I think this is stupid... I understand there's a lot of intricacies involved paperwork-wise and everything, but this is just stupid... If they're that close to terms, why can't they just come out now and say "we've got a deal in place" or "we've agreed to terms on a new CBA" but they just need to get the jargon and everything right.

That's why I'm calling B.S.

And what happened to last Friday according to Sorenson? What happened to getting it done this week so it didn't run into any of the major dates?

What happened to the lawyers working on the wording and everything to have the paperwork ready because a deal was close? But now we supposedly have an agreement to have an agreement in place by the 21st, that will push the already planned dates for league business, camps, etc., back.

This is also AFTER the date from Judge Boylan for more mediation talks... When according to ESPN, the two sides would have an agreement long before because they are steadily making progress.

It's all bullsh*t. F*cking NBA, f*cking NFL. I'm tired of it.

I think the Rookie Pay Scale will be a fairly easy sale....if the owners are willing to take 3 year rookie contract lengths in the deal.

This protects the owners from high priced busts, while getting young players who have proven their worth to the big payday early in their prime years.

ESPN interestingly, if you look at our schedule, has no Preseason Week 1 game anymore. Lists just three and the Sept. 1 game vs. PIT as our only home preseason game. If they cut it to three games, I don't see many arguments.

I actually enjoy watching the pre-season, at least, the Panthers' pre-season games. You get to see the rookies, you get to see the guys who have been pushed to the bottom of the depth chart, etc.

Plus, any pre-season game will be higher rated than anything baseball has on that night.

sadly, because of this lockout, I'm at the point where I might watch a baseball game over an NFL game. losing interest in the NFL, maybe it'll come back when the lockout ends but I don't know..
