The Broncos are actively shopping Jay Cutler

He can demand all he wants. Chad Johnson's been doing it for a while now.

They'd still have to replace him, and trading for Peppers doesn't help them replace Cutler. I'm one that wouldn't do the straight up trade anyway, and I doubt they'd give up more.

(heck, I doubt they'd give up Cutler alone for Peppers)

And no, none of this year's first round QBs is an acceptable replacement for Cutler.

It ain't gonna happen folks :nonod:

as much as i would love to have Cutler in Carolina, I would seriously think Denver would not be dumb enough to trade him straight up. While a straight up trade (Peppers for Cutler) would make sense for both sides, we lose in the end because we wouldn't recoop some picks for Peppers, and we need draft picks. Denver would lose in a sense b/c they don't have a replacement for Cutler, but they could sign Jeff Garcia, who could come in for a year or two and provide production (theoretically) while the organization prepares a QB.

However, this trade would render Delhomme obsolete and we could move him for draft picks. Same for Lucas.

Question (if it was already asked, my bad): would you do this trade straight up IF you know you can get several mid-round picks OR some defensive role players for Delhomme and Lucas? Before you agree, think about who would want to take on Delhomme's 11 million dollar salary and his level of play. What could we realistically get for him? Or would you trade Delhomme for some defensive role players? Same for Lucas

Thats the reason you package Jake with Peppers.

When Peppers first said he wanted out of Carolina I thought that there were only 5 realistic teams that would a) trade for Peppers B) the Panthers would trade with said team and c) Peppers would want to play for said team.

Those teams were Denver, Miami, Houston, Washington and Philly. So far from the moves made this weekend you can cross out Houston and Washington.

Now Denver has put themselves in a position were thier QB is wanting to be traded. While I really doubt that Peppers will sit out this season I have little doubt that Jay Cutler would. This kid has an ego and he is the type that would get pissed and sit out. If the situation escalates, the Broncos might have to trade him.

I believe that Denver was going to be in the market for Peppers way before this Cutler situation happened. Now they might have to use Cutler instead of draft picks in negociations with the Panthers for Peppers.

As for Delhomme being our QB and Hurney not willing to get rid of him. This morning I was going to start a thread about Delhomme not getting extended yet but I didn't get a chance to. The issue I believe as others have pointed out why hasn't Delhomme signed an extension? Knowing that the team would be pushing it to get under the salary cap this should have been one of the first contracts to get extended. The only saving grace was a $4 million increase in the cap that allowed the team to get under the cap.

I think there is a possiblity that Delhomme and the team aren't on good terms. And I would add that if the Panthers could find another starting caliber QB for next season they may end up cutting Delhomme. Now this situation pops up...

You guys are blowing everything right out of proportion. All that has happened is a few teams contacted Denver to make an offer for a trade involving Cutler and they listened, they didn't accept, or even make a counter offer.

Then some "source" who still hasn't been named as come out and said Cutler is upset.

This source hasn't been named other than "close to the situation" it could be a bloody gardener mowing cutler's lawn.

Oh, and if true, being pissed off because your team is trying to trade you is not mental weakness... It's a pretty normal reaction, and it certainly doesn't scream NOT COACHABLE it doesn't even utter it.
