Could Anderson outshine Beason?

I think I am remebering this correctly, but wasnt it Davis that completly shut down vicks running game? I seem to remember there was a stretch of 4 or 5 games years ago where we could not manage to beat Vick and when we added Davis he made it a whole different ball game. I guess my point being Davis could be really good at teaching Cam a thing or two about playing againts fast and athletic LB's.

Yes, it may sound like a dumb topic but I was watching some games from 2010 and Anderson absolutely dominated, also beat Beason statistically and I also know it was a bit hard for Beason who had to change sides due to Davis being injured.

Anderson stats 130 tackles, 4 sacks, 1 int, and 2 force fumbles pretty good for his first full year as a starter

Beason stats 121 tackles, 1 sack, 1 int, 2 force fumbles

Is it possible? :leaving:

Um, no.

Well he has never gotten a FULL chance to start the whole season. Another great example by Fox coaching, even though he did a good job his first year with 18 tackles and 2 sacks.

This whole idea of blaming everything on Fox is getting old. Plenty of 3rd round picks developed just fine under him. Witherspoon got plenty of reps he even filled in for morgan sometimes. Anderson was slow to progress and when he filled in at MLB it was pretty underwhelming.

Also the stats analysis is getting old too. I'm not directly criticizing you as many people do this, but stats only correlate to what is seen on the field. Stats don't make the player.

Anderson's numbers were more about scheme then it was talent.

Anderson isn't going to make plays all by himself but he's a talented player. Better than average for sure. I don't think his production was from scheme I think it was just we could have put a traffic cone at NT and it would have been more effective.

I think it's extremely impressive though that they were able to be as good as they were while being tragically handicapped by the lack of DTs. IF the interior is taken care of they will be nasty.

Neither of us were watching 'tape'. However Connor was exceptional against the run. Better than virtually anyone in the NFL. His ratio of defensive stops to tackles was ridiculous. Beason has a tendency to have real up and down games against the run due to his over aggression in pursuit.

I acutally have just about every game from 2010, not that I've watched it though. It's good for a holiday if you have a few hours.
