Anybody here gets financial aid from NC?

Well it helps that I have savings for college, I just didn't want to have to use it all up. Aid went down about 1,000 each year. But it looks like I should be able to make it through this year.

What I usually do is right when the semester starts I go in the financial aid office and try to scrap the pan with the counselors to see if they can find anything else to add. It usually works even if its only $500. Every dime counts

My friend graduated with 4 year degree... couldnt find a job so he went for masters in accounting... got $35,000 more in loans... Still can't find a job. He owes like $90,000. I worked with a girl, she owes $590,000 to state in tuition money. She got a masters in sports medicine and couldnt find a job so now she decided to go to pharmacy school. Not smart.

Point is... When you graduate, you better find a job somehow or somewhere. G'ment will come after you hard.

Ouch. You can never get rid of student loan debt. If you declare bankruptcy, it will not go away. It will literally follow you to the grave and then transfer to your family members.

If your friend really owes 590k, she is fuged for life.

That's what scares me about grad school and post grad school. Even people with very advanced degrees are having a tough time finding a job. I'm not sure I want to risk taking on the debt. I don't owe anything right now. I feel like just graduating, try to market myself better, and accomplish some things while im still in my youth.

I find myself fortunate that the only loans I had to take out were summer school loans. Even then that amount is probably under $6,000. I refuse to think about grad school right now until I can get a job and hopefully have my employer pay for further education

She's not really my friend and it is true. Pharmacists usually make around $110,000 so she thinks she'll be able to pay it off. Last I heard of her she was trying to get engage to some guy who just became a pharmacist. She did not tell him about 590k debt...
