Asomugha has had 3 interceptions over the past 4 years yet is a top 2 conerback in the NFL. But we all know Munnerlyn is no Asomugha. Theres more to CB than just interceptions. He may be really good at coverage and QBs don't want to take a chance to throw his way.

Rogers is very strong and is excellent (as the article points out) at disrupting #1 and #2 receivers AT THE LINE (press-man), but is less effective at being out "on the island" and covering man-to-man. He is one of the best in the league at playing the run and tackling ability at the cornerback position.

If you're looking for a guy who you can plug in and forget at the corner, he's not it. If you're looking for a guy who can disrupt a receivers patterns and rhythm off the line and *then* stay with him, he's very good. And if you're looking for that guy to shrug off wimpy receiver blocks and make tackles off the corner, he's one of the best.

Rogers has been thrown at alot (as i have said alot of times, he could've had 3 interceptions in a game, but dropped all three) teams throw at Rogers, but dont fear him catching them, if he caught them, then i believe he would be a shutdown corner

How does dropping potential interceptions make him NOT a "shutdown corner"? He prevented the pass from being completed, right? A "shutdown corner" is one who SHUTS DOWN the opposing receiver. If the opposing receiver is not catching the pass, the opposing receiver is shut down, right?

So what does catching or not catching the potential interception have to do with it?

(P.S. I'm not saying Rogers *is* a shut-down corner, I just think your reasoning that dropping potential interceptions PREVENTS him from being a shut-down corner is retarded.)

First off, when he dropped the potential interception on the next play, usually a big play happened or a first down happened. 2nd, a shutdown corner rarely has passes thrown his way. he puts fear in QBs and they avoid him, QBs challenge Rogers THAT is my issue. IF he caught more INTs though, QBs would avoid throwing his way due to the fact they would fear him intercepting. he dropped three in one game, Rogers isnt a bad corner, i dont know how much i have to say that, so read this CAROLINA SHOULD GET ROGERS. i like him, he's not bad, he COULD fix his issues, but i dont think he's a shutdown corner, yet, but he could be if teams avoid him more and more in the future.

shut down corners don't get thrown at.

      Damn back to 10th. I only caught the last 5 minutes but some of those 3's were horrible lol. In that close of game you can't be launching those many hail mary's when you could be chipping away from the foul line. I guess no one wanted to get in the paint and didn't trust the refs to give them the calls maybe? Gonna watch the highlights to get a better idea of the flow of the game

      I agree.  The Big 12 is a good conference, and he is the swinging dick in that conference.  If Bill Self retires, that sets Kansas back a bit, and Arizona moves even further ahead as the best team in that conference.  Arizona can crush west coast recruiting with USC / UCLA no longer being relevant for LA kids, and Gonzaga not being able to compete moneywise.   If Lloyd comes here, he will be second fiddle to Duke every single year in NIL and recruits.  Not to mention the entire SEC and Big East for kids who want to stay in those regions to play. This is why I keep saying go get Mark Few.  Has proven he can do more with less from an X / O perspective but can also recruit All American players and compete at a high level. He's a god at Gonzaga, but for $9M he'd make the move as that's 4x what he's making at Gonzaga, and makes him the highest paid coach in the country.
