This is interesting to me, esp since I doubt they would sign a guy who they think wont play much or wont start to a shoe deal.

Could this mean they know for a fact that he will start this year??

Btw, Cam is with Under Armour too and its pretty cool that Charlotte finally has a couple guys who could become legit national stars.

Nah. Even Greasy Vasqez has an under armour deal.

That is true but I bet UA is confident he will have a good amount of playing time.

I honestly hope we move DJ and Diaw to pick up a possible starting C and backup PG.

I have heard DJ wont be happy if Kemba starts over him and I for one think Kemba should start next year. If we are going to be bad, might as well let Kemba play a ton, same with Bismack.

DJ will start if he is on the team next year. Period. People just don't quite realize how well DJ played last year. He was top 10 in assists to turnovers and has a nice outside shooting stroke.

The Kemba pick was nothing but MJ's infatuation with a good college player. PG was the strongest position on the team before the draft.

Kemba has shown a lot more than DJ did coming out. They were both picked at 9 but you cant deny what Kemba accomplished in college compared to DJ.

DJ is an ok nba player but I just dont think he will hold onto the starter job once Kemba adjusts to the nba game.

I had DJ on one of my fantasy teams last year, so I know he had some good assist numbers and was great in assist to TO ratio. Yet I still think we need something else at PG spot and imo Kemba might be what we need.

Ignoring the championship for a minute, DJ was a statistically better player in nearly every category (except rebounding) than Kemba during each player's sophomore years (DJ's last year in college). DJ didn't have a junior year, but his sophomore numbers weren't far off from Kemba's junior numbers.

Both players stats are close but you can't deny all the clutch shots kemba made in the big east and ncaa tournies.

Dj never did anything like that.

Actually DJ's stats are better. But yes, DJ doesn't have a long history of making clutch shots. See he isn't a ball hog like that and played with some pretty good players at Texas (Durant who?), so don't confuse not getting the opportunity to knock down clutch shots with not being able to knock down clutch shots.

Kemba will either prove himself on the court or he won't. But I think it is silly to think some rookie that needs polishing to his game is going to come in and replace arguably a top 15 point guard in the NBA. Throw in that there is really no way for kemba and dj to play at the same time and you can see that the rookies minutes are going to be limited.
