CRUCIAL NFL Labor talks resume today... Link inside

If you go back and read this thread, you see a bunch of idiots trying to impress the other idiots into thinking they are smart by pointing out idiotic opinions. Should someone submit a typo, that is inexcusable to the idiot who doesn't know he has not fooled his peers, so they find it their responsibility to point it out sarcastically.

Dumbaces, stick to the topic or shut it. I get tired of reading through the moronic trash talk over a misplaced semicolon or a spelling mistake. We get it. you passed middle school. Impressive.

This post should serve as a metaphorical bug zapper to the moth brains looking for something to attack in hopes others think they are actually butterflies.

Reports are that the talk is slow...

Sal Paolantonio of ESPN reports that progress is slow, and that the first week of the preseason could now be in jeopardy.

Per Paolantonio, lawyers haggled Tuesday regarding the terms of a rookie wage scale and a revised drug program. Citing two unnamed sources with direct knowledge of the talks, disagreement still exists on the key issues of dividing revenues and defining “all revenue.”

The news should come as no huge surprise, given that only the lawyers are present. Without Commissioner Roger Goodell, NFLPA* executive director DeMaurice Smith, mediator Arthur Boylan, the owners, or the key players, the lawyers are unlikely to make much progress.

fwiw, from the linked article...

interesting from jim trotter..

Damn. Not sure if this is good news or bad news. Anything coming out of Redskins Park is usually incorrect. They haven't gotten much right in the last decade.

yeah, the guy didn't seem to think he believed it either but still thought he should pass it on.

Thank you for illustrating my point. Dumbace is nothing less spectacular than fugger. Use your imagination--or borrow one.

How am I illustrating your point when u were referring to people that make time to correct people that make typos? I am not one of those people that were obviously just making a joke. Whats really wrong? U can tell Uncle Veins...

mid day report from breer with nothing new in it...

http://www.nfl.com/news/story/09000d5d820a33a1/article/lawyers-address-details-language-issues-in-labor-talks

only thing of interest were things said about the mediator, boylan and his role...

The "guts" of the major issues in this case, most notably the revenue split, will be handled by owners and players, as well as NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell and NFLPA executive director DeMaurice Smith, who are scheduled to arrive Thursday. U.S. Magistrate Judge Arthur Boylan, described by one source as a "rock" for the parties in this process, also will re-join talks then.

.

.

.

Lawyers involved in negotiations believe rulings in the cases have been finalized but that neither Doty nor the 8th Circuit judges, who previously implored the league and players to work out their differences themselves, want to issue them. The failure of talks, this line of thinking goes, could lead Boylan to inform those courts that negotiations have broken down and there's no need to wait to reveal their rulings.

If that's indeed Boylan's hammer, he has used it effectively, reining in the sides late last week and prompting the aforementioned progress on the revenue split, the central issue in this entire dispute. In that time, many of the "fringe" demands -- deemed unacceptable by one side or the other -- fell off the table as well, clearing the way for more productive talks.

breer had this tweet a little while ago (for salty)

AlbertBreer Handful of NFL officials just showed up here at the meetings. Interesting.

probably isn't anything significant, but there it is.

i can't imagine how boring a day has to be for breer or any of these guys. you spend your time trying to find where these meetings are going to be and then camp outside and point out any people going in or out of the meeting place.

here's more of his excitement for this afternoon following up his tweet from a little while ago...

AlbertBreer The NFL officials arriving here were staff lawyers from the management council. Going to work with league lawyer Dennis Curran.

AlbertBreer So the meeting kicked off at 10. Curran and Birch arrived at 2:30. Management Council lawyers showed at 5:15. They're still going upstairs.
