Any Mike Goodson highlights?

Just so you are aware... I'm quoting you on this and telling DeAngello this both via email and in person. I will tell him that you are a Saints fan though... That way he won't think that his own fan base doubts his ability. He's gonna love to hear this poo... He also has a mental chamber for those of you who don't know.

being a "fan" doesn't mean you can't question where a player is at in his career......Williams is 28, had absurd mileage in college in comparison to most NFL RBs, and is coming off 2 injury plagued seasons......

I think it is safe to say Williams peaked a few years ago (08) and is on the backside of his career now (don't know how step the decline is at this point that he will travel). A shame we wasted some quality years with him on the sideline. I don't want the same to happen to Stewart.....giving most reps to another RB while he is entering the prime of his NFL career. No point repeating the same mistake twice.

the 6 games when Williams was looking very ordinary Stewart looked like total poo. I think it was other factors like the O-line. Even then he still squeaked out respectable performances.

Rumored Stewart wasn't healthy......and he looked to be a different RB later on. Also, Stewart is not gonna produce on a few sprinkled carries here and there. He needs a load to get rolling......and he always rolls when given the reps. Stewart isn't the style of RB that you can give 7 attempts per game.....which is what he averaged the first 5 games of the season. Stewart needs to pound on teams......and when given the chance he has been a top tier RB.

two sides to the coin, Stewart and Goodson late in the year had defenses stacking the box and playing the run to an even greater degree late vs. early in the year.....once defenses no longer had to worry of the threat of Moore flinging it and realized Clausen was a sitting duck. I just think Williams is showing his mileage/age......and 2010 is just was of many recent indications of that.

Has there ever been a time when Williams has been ineffective and Stewart pulled the teams tail from the fire? I remember the bears game of 2008.

I don't think in the many games of Stewart's career that he would have been more effective with more carries. If the O-line isn't having a good game, Stewart's not going to have a good game. Williams can still find a way to get things done.

I just don't like Stewart's running style for a lead back. They need somebody shifty back there, Stewart/Goodson run pretty straight most of the time.

The O-line was horrid this whole season, and J-stew did pretty good.

Williams didn't in 2010.

I like Stewart......I want Carolina to lean on him in his prime and not waste those years like they did w/ Williams. I think his ceiling is just as high as Williams (in his prime).

Only Barry Sanders could have compiled yards with our O-Line last season... Can't hate on Deangelo for that.

when Stewart got healthy he was able to run....and so was Goodson. And that was once the passing game was exposed as the complete and utter joke it was.

I don't hate Williams....I just think it is a tad homeristic (is that a word?) to ignore him coming of two consecutive injury plagued seasons, looking very average in his 2010 action, is getting older, and had heavy miles entering the NFL. He is suppose to be the RB that doesn't need the great OL play.

there have been times (especially in 2008) where DWill wasn't getting it done and Stewart got the run game going.

actually.. there have been several games like these..

Goodson was the one to get the run game going in 2010 when neither Stewart or DWill had success..

you really should rethink this philosophy.. Goodson jump started the run game last season, fact.

you do NOT need a shifty RB in the backfield.. I mean, I don't even know how to take that comment seriously.

The O-line was horrid this whole season, and J-stew did pretty good.

Goodson was the one who jump started the run game.. which happened towards the end of the season.

during the games Williams was healthy he was far more effective than anybody else on the team. I don't understand why people think Stewart would be more effective with more carries, he was getting stuffed every time. He's not the kind of runningback that can make something out of nothing. I don't understand why people find this so outrageous.
