McDermott a head hunter?

I'm not sure what is to be implied... but if the message is "go hard and don't think, just react".. I do approve of that message. the game is football. been that way for decades.

for some reason I find it hard to believe "head hunting" was implied anywhere in that article, message, etc..

IMO, the answer Hobbs gave speaks volumes. He implies that McDermontt teaches aggressive hard play, and that his players are ready to play that way. That sounds great to me.

I read nothing in the article about head hunting, unless you are playing the opposite game. Nothing in what McDermontt said implies his players are headhunters. He told them to continue to play how they had been taught. And they got a fair amount of respect doing so. If he can get our players, or any additions, to play that way, again I say great.

Also, McDermontt in no way told his players to ignore what they had just seen. IMO, he went out of his way to tell them they were doing it right, and to continue to play that way. "Nothing changes" sounds like a rally cry to me, not a call to arms. Stupid writers.

So I say, bring it on. It could actually be fun to watch. And GOOOOO PANTHERS!!!!!!!!!!!

With football players being some of the dumbest dudes on the face of the planet, it's not hard to see when a player probably caught a misinterpretation of what the coach was trying to say. If he said don't change your mentality, it didn't mean make illegal hits. It just meant don't become so scared of getting fined that you forget to make solid tackles.
