Transformers 3 Review Party "Spoiler Warning"

lol you really like fighting for movies that won't be sending any money your way?

(Let me preface this response by saying it isn't personally directed at you Salty, but is how I see these situations about these movies)

I'm not really "fighting" for a particular movie... just irritated that people dis movies that are actually pretty good.

A friend of mine, who has always been one for high-fantasy and sci-fi tells me over the weekend:

"I've read the plot synopsis for Transformers 3. It's stupid. I'm not going to waste my money on it."

W. T. F.? How can you say you think a movie is stupid that you've never watched?

Sure, there are terrible movies... when the story is just SO far fetched even a suspension of disbelief isn't enough, or the production is terrible. But that's not what's going on here.

We live in a golden age of entertainment. Film studios can tell stories on the big screen in a level of detail that man has dreamed about for ages. Never before has the imagination been so accessible and freely expressed, and represented so accurately and with such clarity.

And what do I see? Plot nitpicking. Naysaying. Criticism bordering on the point of pessimism.

Rotten Tomatos has TF3 scored at 38%. There's no WAY that movie deserves that low of a score.

Imagine if the contemporaries of Homer's time read the Odyessy and said:

"Very well written, but this story sucks because the Lotus Flower doesn't really make people as lazy as you say it does."

But I get it... it's cool to be a hater. It's cool to seem like you're not amazed by amazing things. It's cool to be jaded. W/E... it just disgusts me people are ruining the potential for others to enjoy something potentially enjoyable because we have a section of our population who's opinions are formed from a very debased and jaded point of view.

I was just glad they added more robots, cooler ones at that and also that I was able to stare at the victoria secret model the whole time.

edit: here comes a typical, your a 12 year old fanboy response, in 3...2...1...

having said that no I do not think it was a "good" movie.

I watched Transformers 3 and I liked it... it was a little long winded for a while, maybe 30 minutes too long, but overall it was about what I expected... the kind of movie that was better in the theater...

Some movies you wanna see in the theater and some it's ok to wait for the DVD.

This whole discussion is about like talking about what woman is more attractive... everybody has their own opinion and they're all right.
