I haven't watched this one yet, though I will. Honestly, I don't see how you can have anything Transformers-related without the gay ass human element. That was a main component of the cartoon and is the crux of the Transformers genre. Displaced good guy alien robots trying to protect humans and Earth from bad guy alien robots.

The same point for having anyone in that movie, to sell toys. Its a two and a half hour toy commercial.

I dunno about you guys, but the only reason I watched Transformer cartoons, read the comic books, and played with the toys is because Sam Witwicky is such a bad ass.

Yes, they made human action figures for the new line of toys. Lmao, he comes with the BumbleBee figure. There really small though, made to scale compared to the Transformers that they come with. The set of toys is called the human alliance.

Meh, I saw it yesterday... in 2D, wasn't paying for 3D...

It was OK, about what I expected... slower paced at times that I thought it should have been and they could have cut out 30 minutes of it and not missed really anything...

No where near as good as "Battle LA" imo... a similar blow-em-up action flick...

That's what you did wrong. It was made to be seen in 3D. I watched it in IMAX 3D and regular 2D. It's not even close to being as good in 2D. It's not the typical gimmicky 3D. It really adds to the depth of the movie and adds an element of immersion. It's a much better experience in 3D.

Terminator Salvation got a similar bad rap. People trashed it. Reviews said to avoid it. And as such, the movie did NOT do great at the box office.

Yet everyone I've recommended it to, who's sat down with and watched it on DVD or BR, came away saying it was a good movie and would have watched it in the theater had they known it was that good and not listened to the haters.

This movie is shaping up to be the same scenario.

as far as movies go it was horrible. As far as fun summer cgi fest movies go I enjoyed it and don't regret spending 10 dollars on it. I wouldn't mind seeing the non 3D version though.

I enjoyed it a lot, as I did in the 2nd one. I'm just not as cynical about these kinds of things as some of you are. Yeah, some of the storylines were not well done once the main battled started, but the story telling prior to it was good. The beginning with Kennedy and the space race was really cool. I think they should've chopped out about 15 minutes of dead pointless time prior to the main battle, and added it to the end. That way, the movie would have picked up a little bit quicker, and we could have had a decent epilogue that actually tied up the storyline and sub plots that were ignored. Wish the main battle would have occurred in multiple places, not just Chicago, similar to an Independence Day type deal.

Also didn't like how the new girl was pretty much just a continuation of Megan Fox's character, with some dialogue thrown in to show she was different. They should have revamped the female lead completely. I would have preferred Sam met her in the movie (not just as a flashback.)

I liked the movie overall though, just hate how it kind of ended leaving so many things open. What even happened to Starscream after he shot down the shuttle? I don't believe he was even mentioned.
