PFT: The worst moments in Panthers franchise history

Drafting Jimmy Clausen with the 33rd pick then drafting Cam Newton with the 1st pick the following season.. And still not having a franchise QB.

Are people this ignorant or do they not care so much about the Panthers, that they have no clue about even the most simplest details?

4. Losing to ATL in our first game. (huh?)

3. Rae Carruth.

2. SB 38 loss

1. 2008 playoff loss.

Crappy list, how is losing a playoff game worse than losing the SB and how is any of that worse than Rae Carruth?

It's a bad moment for an expansion team to lose it's first game against a well-established team like the Falcons? I would say the Falcons almost getting beat by an expansion team in it's first game is a worse moment for the Falcons.

How about going 1-15 in 2001?

How about going 2-14 last year?

That loss to Atlanta being on the list is just f'ing stupid. That was actually one of the best 50 moments in team history if only because of how exciting the game was and how crazy it was that we almost started off with a win. If one of our offensive lineman didn't jump offsides late (on a 2-point conversion try maybe?) we might have won it.

He did get the Top 3 right however (although I'm not sure about the order). What I like about Florio is, as hateable as he can be at times, at least he knows the Carolina Panthers probably more so than any other national guy. There's no way that any national guy remembers that Sunday Night Football game vs. the Giants in 2008 that Florio mentioned.

we're such a young franchise we haven't had a chance to REALLY have some bad moments. He picked the most dissapointing, not really the worst moments.

I'd rather lose the superbowl than go 1-15 or 4-12. I'd rather Jake throw 5 INTs in the playoffs than throw 4 INTS to open the season like he did in 09.

asking peppers publically to step up when he was obviously very sheepish was really bad. Then letting peppers walk for nothing while also being the franchise that got worked in a trade previously for another high profile defensive lineman.

He covers a lot of them in honorable mentions.

Rae Carruth should be number one, even though it's really about a person who just happened to be a Panther.

The 2008 playoff game should be number two. The running game was too good to be blown out like that. Nobody was really picking us to win the SB.
