Newton's father gives rare interview, discusses NCAA probe

I hope this is behind him, but I am not worried. The story did not effect his performance at all while he was in college and I doubt seriously if it will at all if it ever resurfaces again.

Having said this, I much prefer Cecil being the silent type. I saw an interview and he seems like a good guy. Probably is but just got caught doing what 90% of the top guys are doing too.

It really looks like there was at least an attempt to sell Cam to auburn (and I'm positive he knew about it, how do you not?), but at this point, he's a Panther. I don't care too much about it but I wish it hadn't happened. Hopefully the investigation is done and has uncovered the truth and it won't be something that comes up repeatedly.

We already know Cam can play through this kinda stuff though so it won't impact him on the field. I just hope this is the only "off field" incident that Cam is ever "associated" with in any form, and as long as he keeps playing it smart, it may be.

Regardless of what the NCAA finds out or rules, unless you are an Auburn fan, who gives a fug? He's a Panther now, and as long as Cam keeps his act straight while wearing our uniform who cares?

I am an Auburn fan and I don't give a fug.

As long as he ain't saying "Yeah, Auburn gave me $$$$$$ and here's the deposit slip and check copy", honey-badger right here don't give a poo.

I would weigh the laptop thing more than this honestly. I understand pro-football doesn't have internships or co-ops but it's just kind of dumb that they make such a controversy out of it. The only reprehensible thing is that a man of Cecil's age would have such poor judgement. At least Cam was young when the laptop thing happened. I don't see anything morally or ethically wrong.
