Maggette: Jordan will make Cats Contenders

I hate carolina, I will give you that, but I give props to their players that are good players. I also call it like I see it. On last year's Carolina and Duke teams, the only great pros that I saw were Barnes and Irving, and I think Irving is going to be a better pro player.

BTW, not really a duke fan, per se, though I do like how K makes his players play.

I am actually a WFU fan. We are aiming for 4 conference wins this year.

:D

Tough time to be a Wake fan, no doubt about it. I really dont know how you can say Irving will be a better pro, he has not shown much in his 10 or so games he has played. I dont think he is going to be a star pg like Rose or Wall, but that is just me.

Barnes has all the tools you could want out of a nba wing plus he is about as good a character as you will find this day and age.

Irving showed enough to be the 1st over all pick..

Sure he did, in a draft that was considered about as weak as they come, esp in terms of superstars.

Had Irving come back to duke and then gone into the 2012 draft, he wouldnt have been a top 5 pick, maybe not even a top 7 pick.

Barnes, Davis, Sullenger, Rivers, both Jones's, Gilchrist and Miller might all go over him imo.

I just dont think Irving is that good, he only played 10 or so games and really hurt Nolan while he was out there.

Very simple. PGs have the ball in their hands all the time, so just being a PG gives you an upper hand as far as being a better pro.

As to Irving, yes, he only played in a dozen or so games this year but he had zero (0) bad games. There were a few games in which he had a high number of TOs, but he always put the ball in the basket and he seemed like he could take over a game.

As to Barnes, in the first half of the season, he had 6 games where he was in single digits in scoring. Now he improved significantly in the second half of the season when the PG change was made, but in the first half of the season while playing with Drew II, he couldn't get his own shot and take over games.

Yep, he seems like he's afraid to make the next step. Not need any scared players here.

Plus the fact that he was scared to take his game to the next level when he could have been a top 5 pick. Guys with heart ain't scared to match up with the best of the best. jmo.

Why must every thread in this forum derail into a UNC/Duke pissing match?

Because the UNC crowd is butt hurt about having two Dookies on the team and no Tarheels. Sooo they are hoping and praying they will draft one next season.

Instead of doing whats best for the Bobcats they want whats best for their baby blue selves.

As a UNC fan, it has nothing to do with having Dookies on the team. I think Henderson has a bright future and Maggette will either be a great player for us or a great trade bait piece. Michael Jordan owning the team is good enough for me as far as having UNC guys in the organization.

The real I want Harrison Barnes is he fills a need for this team. Same with Michael Gilchrist. I would rather have Barnes, not bc he is from UNC, but bc hes the best SF prospect. I love Henson and Zeller as well, but dont want them on the Bobcats.

Henson will NOT, I repeat NOT be a good pro, coming from a Heel. Trust me this guy's ceiling is a really poor man's Tyson Chandler, pick pop and dunk

don't really understand the Barnes hate, I would be thrilled if we landed him, Rivers, or that freshmen big guy from UK. Don't want Sullinger

    • I didn't say much bigger. Watch the highlights I linked. Bryce doesn't have the arm strength and/or talent to make the vast majority of the throws Mac made in that video.
    • Tetairoa McMillan.   The last 28 1st overall picks were either a QB, DE, or OT. Seeing as I don't think we'd take an OT in the 1st and give up on Ickey as an LT yet and there doesn't seem to be a clear overall #1 type of QB or DE pick this year, it very well could be a non conventional #1 overall this year, at least in regards from the last almost 3 decades of drafts. If we didn't have Horn, I'd be more open to Hunter as a CB at #1, but we have him so another CB wouldn't be how I'd use a #1 pick.  And as much as I love Legette, if we have SB contending aspirations, I don't think Legette is a #1 on a team like that, but he damn sure is an elite #2 on a team like that.  He's more of the Smith/Higgins/Waddle to Brown/Chase/Hill (in terms of role/impact, not style of play of course). T-Mac is going to be the top ranked WR on every team's board in the end.  He is going to be a true outside #1 WR who is viewed as a consensus Top 5 WR in the game by his second contract in the same way guys like Jefferson and Chase have done.  His height combined with his speed, athleticism, and hands are near impossible to find all in one player, there is a reason his generally used comp is Mike Evans (although as he's not as thick, I personally see him more as an AJ Green). Yes, as an Arizona alum I've admitted to having bias towards the player to begin with.  But he's also someone very widely being put into the Top 5 in mock drafts lately and most of them have him as the first non QB offensive player being taken, so it's not really THAT much of a homer pick on my part anyways. If a QB or DE truly separate themselves as being a can't miss prospect come draft day, I'm open to that discussion, but until then, or if it doesn't happen, T-Mac is my pick 100 times out of 100.
