We are broke so we wont pick up any big name F/A besides this years suck. We have been aggressive in the past but why overspend on weak talent.

There is no such thing as broke. You can always twist your salary cap... in other words salary cap is a joke. But, right now everyone overspends in 2-5 days you can get same talent but way cheaper.

It's a good thing we've had success when making major free agent signings of name guys on the defensive line. Sean Gilbert, Eric Swann, Chuck Smith, Reggie White, those guys all got us over the championship hill. And Greg Lloyd was an awesome linebacker too.

I can't remember a free agent pickup that "led" a team to a championship.

Bargains are the only times to get big name players through trade.

Haynesworth isn't worth the money, He will pass his prime very soon and from then DTs deteriorate quickly. I really don't think Peppers is worth it either.
