What's the most you've seen a co-worker do wrong and not get fired?

O yeah. That reminds me.

In HS, I had a friend who worked at Eckerds. He robbed them blind of cig cartons daily. would just walk out the back and put em in his car.

We weren't 18 yet, so he turned around and sold the packs to everyone at school. 1 for $3, 2 for $5. all profit going into his pocket.

fn genius. they never figured it out. not sure how they wouldn't, but I guess he was the one stocking and doing inventory.

just marry boo for a greencard and pay her with sex.

another win win.

Well I'm sold. Not quite sure what she gets out of it though.

As for the original post:

Two things from the place I currently 'work':

I've seen guys completely trash the Produce back up i.e. thrown melons at the fans to break them etc. All they got was a stiff warning.

Several thousand pounds of food spoiled, several thousand pounds of equipment destroyed.....and a slap on the wrists.

Also two managers and a colleague were caught up in a love triangle (two girls and a guy). The female manager flipped out one night and held a pair of scissors to the throat of the female colleague until she promised never to see the male manager anymore. Again, after a brief suspension she was back at work....madness.

When i was working at another HomeTheater company I... knew somebody, yea, I knew somebody that had a coupla difference of opinions with the extra-Napolean-complexed owner. The guy would tell us to go home for the day because we had overtime coming up, then the OT would fall through and my paycheck would be short. Dude docked my pay to pay for a tool they bought that I already had, and said I needed to own one. A client gave me their old TV when I installed their new one, Naploean saw it and told me it was his "because I sign the f_ckin paychecks, thats how" I managed to get the TV 20 feet away into the dumpster from the back o my truck...So much stuff left the warehouse because I.. I mean he figured out they werent inventorying anything. There is still 6 pairs of in-ceiling speakers, 3 pair outdoor speakers and a few other electronic devices in my, um, his attic. I cannot even count the things that were used on my, his sidejobs that those customers paid for...

Similar story here.

I was 18 and getting ready to ship out to the military. My best friend convinced me to quit my low paying manager job and work with him at a small local gas station. We had joined at the same time and figured we were gonna enjoy our last summer while we were still alive.

The station was a gift to the owner's father who developed synthetic oil for Mohawk. I swear the pumps were rigged, almost every time, my drawer came out to extra money and I am very good at math. Turns out, he got dirt cheap gas from the distributor and fudged the numbers in order to pocket more cash.

We decided to "skim" our share up front. We took what ever we wanted, sold oil changes, kept the cash and used it to get our manager to buy us beer and weed. You know, kid stuff like that.

Plus, I got a free tank of gas every other day.

lol...nice!

we had a good scam selling oil! people....if you think your car needs oil...add it yourself, don't trust some 16 year old drunk to "add" some for you...I don't know how many times we would sell the same bottle over and over!!!

we'd do odd jobs all the time in the shop too and pocket the cash. We were young entrepenoooers that were always willing to give cash discounts on a tire repair etc...customer wouldn't give a poo that the cash went straight into our pockets.
