People are going overboard with the Marshall sucks chat. He doesn't sack he is a capable starter and I am sad to see him go. However, his agent has him convinced that he is worth Nnamdi Asomugha and Darrelle Revis money and that's just not the case. He is a servicable starter that you give a contract of three years and anywhere from four to six million dollars a year, but he wants a contract for like five years for a total of thirty-five million and that's just not going to happen. People need to realize his contract makes him look like he sucks not his on the field performance. On the field he is one of the top five cornerback's in the divison, in my opinion.

as a nickleback he's much better. Starting he sucks as much as people say. I really don't like the way he plays.

It's obvious Marshall feels undervalued. Especially with the way we treated Gamble to a great deal. But the fact is that Gamble is better.

There is no denying that Marshall has the talent to be very good. But he peaked some time ago and we've always been waiting for him to take the next leap. My question is whether that comes from his drive to serve the team or if he really has reached his ceiling. I personally am not willing to dish out a big contract to find out. He either takes what we give him or we wish him luck elsewhere. Just my opinion.

You have a point, he is probably the worst out of the best if you understand where I'm coming from, but there are guys like Sharper, Grimes, Gamble etc...

Marshall is great against the run, suspect against the pass. He is much better when Gamble isn't being a bitch.

Marshall is tough and plays the run well. But he simply doesn't have the closing speed and great instincts. He can play a man off the line and cover but struggles in zone. He has potential and athletic ability but doesn't seem to have the confidence to be a shutdown corner.

I thought Marshal played a good nickel, but when he took over for Kenny, he went downhill.

Gamble and Captain to start, and Hogan in the nickel. I think that's a better lineup than Gamble/Marshal/Captain anyways.
