Im only going to list he FAs that IMO are worth looking at.. that is only UFA players who could really help our squad..

PGs:

[we have enough and the field is didly-poo]

SGs:

Roger Mason

JR Smith

Jason Richardson

SFs:

Reggie Evans - avgs 11.4 rebounds

Earl Clark

Shane Battier

Vlad Radmanovic

Caron Butler :drool5:

Andre Kirelinko

Josh Howard

Yi Jianlian

Tayshaun Prince

Tracy McGrady

PF/Cs:

Glen Davis

K-mart

Nene :drool5:

Samuel Dalembert

Carl Landry

David West :drool5:

if would not mind seeing Vlad Rad resigned- he was deadly from 3pt range with Golden State (3pt% 0.405) wih limited minutes.. he might be a great fit for Silas.. he never really got a chance on under LB

I would love to bring in Dalembert, but I have a feeling we would have to overpay to get him. I could see us signing Earl Clark. He is a similar player to Cunningham and should be fairly cheap. Hard to believe he is a FA, wasn't he drafted the same year as Hendo?

I'll pass on all. Hopefully we only bring in Young developing players. Not trying to add players that take us right back to mediocrity... If that's the case we could have kept Wallace or Jax.

The only young player on the list who can continue developing in to a solid players is Glen Davis... He's the only one I would be okay with.

You don't like Marc Gasol? I would like to get Roger Mason or Afflalo and a decent big man.

I like Gasol, but it's all about our current objective. If we sign Gasol were still not close to being good enough to make any realistic run in the playoffs... and we would not be bad enough to have a high draft pick to draft top talent... Stuck in that 9-15 range that we've been stuck in for awhile.... mediocrity.... and the same cycle.

Plus if the team went out and sign a player or two and got back to where they were, they would possibly loose out on next years draft pick to the Bulls. That draft class is loaded.

JR Smith, Samuel Dalembert, and maybe David West...those are the FA's I want and hope that the 'Cats are targeting. I really wanted the Cats to go after Marcus Thornton last year at the trade deadline, but since he and JR are nearly identical, JR will do.

Dalembert would give us another big body; especially if Kwame isnt retained.

I've always been a fan of "the 17 foot assassin", David West, but he's coming back from major knee surgery, so I dont know about him. Its been said that he's been on beast mode with his rehab, so he could be worth the pickup. Don't know how he'll play without Chris Paul, though. But, we could get David West now, and CP3 later. Man!!!! *dreaming*

What about this for a crazy idea? Lets bring back Double A. Alexis Ajinca. I know it sounds crazy but we all know LB was not a fan of playing rookies. Fact is AA got some minutes in Toronto and did pretty good. European Center/ PF take time to acclimate to the NBA and i think he is getting there.

Also JR Smith and Tayshaun Prince would be a dangerous veteran duo to bring in.

Here is the way I see it...by position.

But first off, those of you listing guys that are in there upper twenties and getting into their thirties need to realize that you don't rebuild with those types of guys unless they are superstars/all stars. Why would we have gotten rid of Gerald Wallace and Stephen Jackson, if we were just going to go out into the free agent market and get less productive guys that are just as old as they are?

Now here is my breakdown...

Point Guard- Obviously we don't need another point guard D.J. Augustin and Kemba Walker make a damn good tandem.

Shooting Guard- J.R. Smith would be a great guy to get. He can score, play defense, and he is still very young. I would love to get J.R. Smith as Henderson's back-up.

Small Forward- We already traded for Corey Maggette, there is no point adding a player like AK47 or Battier to the roster when they are going to want to start. We just gave up Jackson, Livingston, and the 19th pick in the draft for Corey, so we need to get everything we can out of him. Also most of those guys you listed for the small forward position are power forwards.

Power Forward- Under know circumstance do we need another power forward. We already have Tyrus Thomas, Boris Diaw, Bismack Biyombo (Silas said he is going to play him at power forward for his first year), D.J. White, and Eduardo Najera.

Center- Since Silas doesn't really want to play Biyombo at center in his first year in the NBA, I think it would be nice to add another bulky body down low. Glen Davis is the guy that I like, he would be a perfect fit in this system. He is a high energy player that gets up and down the court very well for his size.

So at the end of the day, if we are going to sign anyone from this free agent class; I would only take J.R. Smith and Glen Davis because they would be players that you can keep on the team even through the re-building process.

Nice breakdown, I would love either Smith or Davis but I dont really see the Cats going after many decent FAs.

I think MJ and Cho know that we probably wont be very good this year. Yet we can land a real star in next years draft if we can get a top 3 or even 5 pick. I actually am fine with watching a young team play tough but lose a ton of games and we come away with a Harrison Barnes or Anthony Davis.

    • Him and Sanders are the only QBs I would consider in the first round. I won’t be upset if we take Sanders, unlike some people on the board. Both have potential to be really good NFL QBs if the teams can develop them.  But as we have seen teams are not willing or are unable to now properly develop rookie QBs.
    • I remember the last time we had a Cam at QB in Charlotte
    • Because Young is so historically bad that it just skews too far outside the normal deviations that perspective is easily lost. That or they just don't want to believe it.  The struggles last year would have been more about the infighting and poor roster building or idiot owner's hiring practices than with Stroud. He wouldn't have been as good but he wouldn't have been ruined here and the pressure was not Carr-esk if you take out the Young created portion from his playing style.  Dude is a young guy on a team coached by a Defensive guy building a good D but not building up the O in year 2 of his HC 1st time gig. Seems familiar... Go look at his output this year and not just some crappy Thursday night implosion game, I would take that in a second and never ever look back every time without a shred of doubt while eating 4 of those games a year with a giant smile on my face.
