3 questions for the huddle.

Can't believe the lack of love for D-Will.

Stewart, good running back, strong guy, does not have the greatest hands out of the backfield, power running.

Goodson, like him, never met a ball he could not fumbleor a blitz he could not pick up, will he grow out of this, don't know.

Sutton flashes, sometimes.

Williams is a break-away threat everytime he touches the ball AND he is great catching passes out of the back field. Last time I watched this Norv Turner cast-off offense in Dallas, Washington, and San Diego, backs catching out of the backfield is key. It's a D-Will offense. Goodson, if he can learn to hold the ball and pickup a blitz might have a great year; who knows. Williams is a sure thing.

I think you meant "decent"

At least if we let him go, let's do it after he has a more productive year thus raising his stock and we actually get something for him. I'm not of the mind to ever let him go... But if we do, I say that this is the way to go.

The problem is, Smitty has one year left in his contract. If we allow him to play the contract out, he is a FA next year and we get nothing for him. It is extend or trade time for Smitty in my mind

D-will is a great back but, there's no lying he's getting up there with age.

Good morning huddle nation, me and some friends were sitting around last night drinking and discussing the Panthers and we came up with a couple interesting questions that I would like to hear your response to:

1. Would you be willing to trade steve smith if it meant we could bring in a great veteran QB? IE Mcnabb or Kolb

2. Would you be willing to let D-will walk if it meant we could bring in a top CB FA prospect? IE Nnamdi Asomugha

3. Would you be willing to let CJ walk if it meant we could bring in a top DT prospect? IE Brandon Mebane or Barry Cofield

Basically could you stand watching one of the big three go if it meant we could address other areas of concern. Lets be honest, RB and DE are pretty solid positions for us. WR...... well, they are coming around. But DT, CB and possibly a veteran QB all seem to be very pressing needs.

What could you stomach?

1. No. McNabb is a WCO QB and I believe that Kolb is vastly over-rated (much like Moore).

2. Maybe....but only for Aso

3. Absolutely not. We have some good rotational guys at DT. However, we hve no replacement for CJ. CJ ismore valuable for this team than both Mebane and Coefield.

The question is really would you let guy A go if you could get something else you needed in guy B that is equally as effective in an albeit different way but overall better for the team.

YES

Now becomes the secondary and tertiary questions of "do you trust the staff to be able to do that" and "is Guy B (in your opinion) better for the team that guy A". This is where the sniffers, apologists, and other clueless posters are gonna show up and turn the thread into bullsh|t real fast.

You're a little late on that... You must not have read any of the previous posts in this thread... It's okay, I'm sure you'll get 'em next time.

Like Deion Sanders said in the Pizza Hut Commercial, rather than either or, I like both.

Keep Smitty and bring in a veteran Quarterback. Keep D-Will and sing a corner although I doubt we even look at Aso.

Definitely keep CJ and bring in a great DT.

Johnson says he wants to win and the best way to do that is make the defense dominant and bring in a veteran QB and keep the running game strong.

Barring that, with Newton in the fold, improving the defense and keep the running game strong is the best way to win with a rookie QB. If we can keep opposing offenses under 21 points it puts a lot less pressure on our offense to score all the time.

I love the fact that it's apparent in every single one of your posts that you actually know what the fug you're talking about! If there were more of U's like that this place would be better off...

I'm going to try and remain calm while I correct your lack of knowledge for our Team. Steve Smith has 2 years left in his deal... He's locked in through the 2012 season which won't make him a FA until the 2013 season.

So like I've repeatedly posted... Let him play this year and boost the shyit outta his stock... Then trade him next year. I'm against a trade period... But if it's going to be done.. That's the way to do it

No, McNabb doesn't help and how is Klob an improvement?

Maybe

Maybe

that is my Opinion based straight up on what would be best for the team, IMO CB is one of the positions that are the most overrated imo, the very best CB in the NFL can only shut down 1 player and better teams can game plan around that.

I'm not as high on CJ as most are so I would be willing for the right player but that really depends on who though

    • We can't afford to reach for one of the first round QBs this year. I would love for nothing more than Bryce to be the reason we don't even scout the bastards
