Awesome suggestions guys, just got into oak island about an hour ago and this seems like a pretty cool place. Im looking forward to my ten days here!!

Bmorgan I should be doing some fishing myself, ill be rocking my white panthers hat so give me a shout if you see me!

Go Cougars! Class of 83 SBHS

Nice place to have a quiet vacation - so much better than fighting all that traffic over in New Hanover county. Great fishing behind Bald head island over in Buzzard bay. Lockwood Folley and Shallotte inlet have great flounder fishing. If daring - take a boat ride out to Frying Pan Towers for some good off shore fishing.

The family and I are heading there next week and I've never been so I was hoping to get some input on some good local restaurants and also some activities the island offers. From what I researched this seems like a pretty quite island and it looks like there isn't to much going on, I might have to travel to Myrtle or Wilmington..

There's buried treasure on the island! Huge amount of treasure supposedly!
