Bobcats by the numbers: 62.4

Recommended Posts

Corey Maggette may be asked to carry a heavy offensive load for the Bobcats next season -- their returning roster averaged just 62.4 ppg in the NBA last season.

This doesn't include any scoring from rookies, of course, but then again nobody expects Bismack Biyombo and Kemba Walker to be lighting up the scoreboard. Give a small by-default fantasy boost to guys like Tyrus Thomas, D.J. Augustin, Maggette, and Gerald Henderson.

Obviously this is the returning roster, not including guys that are expected to return, like Kwame Brown who averaged 7.9 points per game or Dante Cunningham who averaged 6.2 points per game.

With that said, who do you guys think will lead the Bobcats in scoring next year?

A lot of the burden will be on Hendo to fill the scoring role. It'd be nice and I wouldn't be surprised if our starters at positions 1-4 have around the same scoring averages. I think it'll either be Maggette or Henderson, but I'll vote for Gerald.

Maggette averaged 20 ppg two years ago on 50% shooting with Golden State. He'll fit in perfectly with Silas' fast paced style. Hopefully Hendo can up his scoring average and we get about 40ppg from Hendo and Maggette combined.

Too bad Hendo misses the first month of the season and will be slow to get back into game form. Really I think expecting 20 out of Hendo is going to be tough. Teams are going to start game planning for him. He needs a bit more of an outside shooting touch.

Seriously DJ will probably lead the team in scoring.

Yeah, I'm surprised that out of 17 people I am the only one that picked DJ. Hendo had major surgery and Kemba will be a rookie. Not saying DJ will definitely be the high scorer, just surprised nobody else thinks so.
