GREENWOOD, S.C. The father of Carolina Panthers receiver Armanti Edwards has been convicted of murder in South Carolina -- the second time he has been found guilty in the case.

A jury found Freddie Edwards, 63, of Greenwood, S.C., guilty Thursday in the shooting death of George "Meat" Freeman in July 2005. The shooting happened during a poker game, prosecutors said.
