Took a plea agreement. Plead No Contest to "Intent to possess". 18 months of unsupervised probation.

Uhm I read the first post and a couple after that, then this last one. At the end of the day is that all? Just the 18 month unsupervised?

Don't get me wrong.. I think that whole thing was bullcrap and you got screwed over.

Yeah that's it. There was a whole lot more than happened in between that I didn't post in here so that I wasn't jeopardizing my legal position.

Since they didn't really find any real evidence during their search they thought that my Cop neighbor, whom I was supposed to go play golf with that afternoon and didn't because my wife was sick, must have tipped me off. They offered to drop my charges if I would give testimony to the SBI against him. Of course that was a huge load of bullpoo and they were just reaching, trying to get me to incriminate myself.

But yeah, I got 18 months of unsupervised probation.

sorry dude , but why would anyone cop to something they were not guilty of ?

i've had to do this. this was my situation

plead guilty, pay a fine for a few hundred dollars (less than what an attorney would have cost going to trial)

plead not guilty (which I was) go to trial and possibly end up doing 6 months in jail

yay justice system

No, since I have priors I'm not eligible for a 90-96 deferred judgement.

And as to the other question about why I would plead guilty to something I didn't do. I didn't technically plead guilty, I plead "No Contest", semantics really. The reason for that is because a Jury trial is always a crap shoot, take a guaranteed solution with no prison time or roll the dice with a Jury and risk going to prison...which would you take?
