Today I defeated upper management.

Since last July my boss and his boss and the one above him have put me thru Hell. From taking away a title from me, making me move my desk behind my boss to almost emasculating me.

Micro managed me to the point where the last few weeks I thought about doing another Jerry Maguire but just can't with my family now. I have been the ONLY guy in meetings who says I disagree. From some new systems to processes to you name it. First time ever I don't get a year end bonus and couldn't transfer out.

The mgr two notches above mine was let go last month. Just last week my boss and his wrote me up and wanted to have a call this week about me.

Well today, my bosses boss was let go. But here is where it gets awesome.

The new guy comes in and basically says to everyone, that pstall guy was RIGHT. The metrics are stupid you guys are doing. The micro management is wrong, the systems are wrong, the whole thing is wrong.

To finish the slam dunk, the new guy said verbatim what I argued with my boss about 2 months ago about one bizarre and stupid metric.

The new guy just laughs and says what idiot would use that to measure people?

The final nail for my boss was getting this recognition from a giant client out of San Fran and how crucial i was to them doing business and all that I know.

Ahh. Suddenly I'm going to enjoy work a little more. :D

well not exactly. i wasn't even at this mtg because i had a dif one I HAD to go to. The rest of the teams had to be at this one.

As soon as I get back from mine they were all over me. Dude, the new guy said everything you had been saying the whole time.

The energy level and life for everyone was back. That was awesome to see.
