We franchised kalil at 10.7 million so we obviously thought he was worth that much. If we don't sign him long term he simply takes the tag and signs elsewhere next year. If we tag him again it will be at a 20% increase to this year or 12 million.

About 8-9 for Beason is about right. CJ will get 10 million from us or will get that from Atlanta or Denver. Double digit sack DEs get mega bucks if they hit the market.

What about T davis, James Anderson, and Dante Rosario you need to count them in the core also. We also might have to sign Ed Johnson or Landry with just the rookies and Barry Coffield that only 3 DT on the roster we will carry more then 3 DT. Now you add a Vet QB and CB. How much money will we need to get this done.

I agree in principle with everything you said here, but defensive ends simply make more than linebackers. It's just the way it is.

The market value for top DE's is higher than for LB's. It is just economics.

James Anderson is almost as overrated as Will Witherspoon was.

T. Davis should be mildly affordable and Rosario should be highly affordable.

call me naive, but i dont think it's going to hurt all that much to get the core re-signed.

it won't be cheap, but it also won't keep us from bringing in talent at some key positions.

Why does everyone think matt moore will be back? With cam on the roster,jimmy,and pike? Ron has all but promised to bring in a Vet i don't see any possible way matt moore is on the opening day roster. unless that vet that he promised is a "resigned moore" it just doesn't sound possible.
