Brits hate the panthers

I couldn't make it past this.

why is that? The number of craft breweries in America has astronomically exceeded tiny countries like England.

Much like the UK doing a 180 on food - the US has done a 180 on beer quality.

Now if you put Coors light vs any UK beer your just not even comparing apples to apples. I am talking quality brewers who are making quality beer. US has them by the throat.

If you want to put Europe & UK against the US it could be a good matchup.

But to be fair I would like to know 5 English beers that have all US beers dominated.

I guess we may have a different view of good food....or my boys in the UK are clueless as to good establishments. Every pub meal I have had in London, Oxford, or Manchester has been bland and flavorless.

Cant speak for Oxford or Manchester but your boys have to be wrong or have odd taste buds, or just simply havent found the good ones. I like flavorful food. I almost err on the side of salty and savory. I can assure you that there are plenty of places that have very good local food. The problem is the majority of places feed the masses. The masses = dumbards who have no palates.

I am actually going to a very inventive and famous British chefs restaurant next week "Tom Aikens" and I will let you know how it is. It isnt exactly a cheap or easy to hop in a table option though.

I feel like America has embraced light beer too much.

We have. Its super lame.

Want to hear something sad? (you dont have a choice)

I have seen Blue Moon on tap at at least 4 proper London pubs in the past month!!!!!!!! I would much rather have a Hoegaarden.

I also see Coors light on tap in Ireland a lot!! I think the business of beer is starting to weaken the UK.

that's gross what's the point. It does taste better but not really with more taste. It just tastes fresher and actually even a little more watery.

The whole drink-ability thing is a nightmare. People want beer to taste less like beer so they can drink more beer. I bet this happened before Rome collapsed.

The real beers are the local ales, need to get out into the country for those though

I was just talking about the top selling beers, didn't really consider local things because that's kinda hard to compare as there are hidden gems everywhere.

Compare the top brands in the US vs. Europe and it's just silly. Bud Light, Coors Light, Miller Light, Natty Light vs. Carling, Guiness, Carlsberg, Krombacher.

American beers have 3 things they're obsessed with that ruin them. Hops, being light, and cold. You hardly see a commercial for an American beer that doesn't say "We use 40 lbs of hops per bottle, and brew in liquid nitrogen at -300 degrees."

These things don't improve the taste of beer, they're intended to cover up an inferior product. That's the entire idea behind the 'cold' thing, yet they brag about it as if it's awesome.

You missed out these major brands - Kronenberg, Fosters, Stella Artois and then emerging popularities with Staropramen
