Recycling Old Electronic Junk

I have a box full of outdated electronic equipment consisting of modems, cell phones, coax cables, AV Cables, power adapters, phone wires, ethernet cables, and various other junk. I can't find anywhere locally that recycles this type of stuff, and I hate to just throw it away. Does anybody know of any company that buys or accepts this type of stuff?

Good question... I have old printers and monitors sometimes that we'd like to get rid of...

Look for an e-recycler. Computel is a local company that does that. I think even Best Buy accepts some of that stuff.

my local landfill has a bin for electronics...but you don't get anything for them of course.

Join Yahoo groups "Freecycle".. Every town just about has one. You can post "stuff" you no longer want, but don't want to throw away.

Cell phones, modems & old computers. people want for the gold. Power supplies, model railroaders love to power their lighting and accessories. (If I didn't have so many, I'd take your power suplies.)
