Still have a t-shirt somwhere with the fishwrap front page printed on it. October 25, 1993... the date we were actually awarded the franchise. Can't remember the caption, though. It's a picture of uptown Charlotte at night with fireworks going off in the background.

Edit...."Touchdown!" was the caption. I still need to find that shirt.

I always thought that the World Football League team in Carolina was the Cougars (which I named my fantasy team in 1986) I found online I was wrong all these years. They were the Carolina Stars/Hornets.
