Proactive Vs. Reactive....

This is not your Jessica Simpson's "Proactive"....

This is the difference between winning Championships and being on the outside looking in.

The Panthers have had a problem of being too reactive over the years. A few years ago it was too many injuries, before that it was Running Backs, last season it was the defensive line.

This is the Panthers chance to re-capture the magic. Last off season the Panthers seen there was a glaring need on the line, and even though they "addressed the situation", they still fell short.

Still, the team has obvious needs, needs that kept our team from being able to stop a ticking time bomb near the end of the season.

The defensive line.

Even now more than ever they must address this issue. With the possibility of a disgruntled Julius Peppers they must find a solution that makes both sides happy, and equals production on the field. Beyond that, they must find a way to revamp a defensive line that possibly cost the team a trip to the Super Bowl while providing depth for the team as a whole.

This is the chance to be proactive. That is the wild card to the 2009 season.

Will the team take this opportunity to ensure the question marks are gone and make sure the team will be prepared for the 2009 season????

Right now at this moment it appears as if the best case scenario is you'll see the exact same personnel as last year one year older, and with a little less depth. The only way this changes is to get rid of the 16.8 million albatross currently around their neck.

Its just all about being SMART. If we can get a few picks out of Peppers and get us some bad ass DT/DE in the draft, we are on the right path. No matter what though, we are going to have to pick up a DT/DE in FA.

Thats not even considering our depth.

We need DL depth.

our secret weapon this season might just be our WHOLE NEW defensive staff.

New Ideas= New attitude= New outcome.

We just have to wait to see if its positive.
