John Kasay: Terrible or Great?

First of all Kasay is one of the best kickers in the game. He's going to go down as one of the best Panthers in the history of the franchise. I have a lot of respect for him. If it wasn't for him we probably wouldn't have made it to the superbowl that year. Now people making excuses for him fuging up the kickoff need to get off the ***. How do you really expect our defense to keep TOM BRADY out of field goal range starting at the forty when we were going back and fourth the whole damn game. Really, yall think its that easy to stop a hot Patriots offense from going 25-35 yards. There's no excuse for his fug up and it basically cost us the game. All he had to do was kick in the fuging end zone. I bet our defense wouldn't of let them get pass the 50 yard line, but what's done is done and I forgive him but I'll never forget until we win a superbowl. "It is what it is":cryin:

I'd still put him at great. He's damn sure not terrible. He's won plenty of games at the end.

@ anyone who wants a John Kasay statue in front of BOA

Do you really want to be known as the franchise who has a fuging KICKER statue?

that is the ultimate sign of a young franchise.....Ks don't get statues. To consider it just shows how "green" we are to the NFL.

...I'm done....PLEASE FOOTBALL GODS SAVE THE SEASON SO I DON'T HAVE TO READ THIS NO MORE....Lets just agree to disagree...:hat:

Look at the responses to you. When one person thinks your logic is stupid, it is their opinion. When a number of folks think the same thing, it is consensus. Take you own advice, read what folks are saying and instead of dismissing it, take it to heart and consider modifying your stance. Otherwise this kind of feedback will be the tip of the iceburg.

Great kicker but that particular kick off cost us the Super Bowl. You can't give Tom Brady the ball on the 40 yard line for the last drive of the game. Having said that, I am still a big Kasay fans. Everyone makes mistakes.

New England would likely have scored with or without the kick out of bounds. All the kick out of bounds did was allow them to take their time. Giving Brady the ball with over a minute left with an exhausted defense and only needing a fg from one of the better kickers in the game is more than likely a win for NE.

IMO, we made a big mistake just after the two minute mark. Ricky Proehl had just caught a 31 yard pass, getting it to the New England 14. We immediately called a timeout. I thought we should have run some time off the clock before calling the timeout. Do that, and Brady gets the ball with maybe 30 seconds, and I think we would have stopped him no matter where the kickoff went. But its a less obvious thing than the kickoff.

Maybe I made this up but didn't we go for 2 and miss it in the second half?? If my memory serves me, had we gone for 1 and made it instead of going for 2 and missing it, that field goal for New England would have tied the game not won it for them.

Who the heck said Kasay chokes in the fourth quarter? Absolutely crazy, do you know how many game winners he has booted for us? I'll never forget that one against Indianapolis in 2003 I think.

Kasay has never been good at kickoffs though, obviously his biggest blunder was kicking it out of bounds in the SB but still then I can't remember a time he had a touchback. That's why we signed Rhys Lloyd.

The answer is great.

I think we went for two more than once. In fact, if memory serves, had we just kicked for one after each td, AV's fg would have just tied the game.
