Newton 5/1 to Win ROY

This does NOT surprise me whatsoever... The dude is a phenom. ROY is a lock... Pro bowl, a lock... SuperBowl MVP??? <---- that's just the best case scenario in which we are all hoping will come to fruition!

Yeah, ROY I could easily see, but Pro Bowl lock? The hell kind of Cammy Cam Juice are you drinking?

In our division alone there's two, maybe three QBs with a better chance of making the Pro Bowl for the NFC this season. It's going to be even more of a challenge for a rookie QB to make a start, much less make the Pro Bowl with this kind of off-season.

I enjoy optimism, but that's taking it a bit too far.

I can NOT argue anybody's logic in here, and you're probably all right in saying he will not go to the pro bowl.. BUT I do think that you underestimate his star quality.

If this dude comes out gunz a blazin' and shows out with all the media coverage and spotlight on him I think it's very possible for the fans to get carried away and vote him to the pro bowl. I mean really, have you seen how dumb some fans are with their ESPN polls?

Either way I'm glad I made some of u guys laugh and I think it took up two more days of the lockout; which by the way this is day 93! Let's hope it ends soon! News and updates will be flying through here before we know it!

Example....Allen Iverson and Yao Ming making the all-star roster..I believe either last year or the year before and neither had played...your basic sports fan is an idiot who jumps on which ever bandwagon is hot at the moment...

I wouldn't be surprised if Newton played well and we see him make the probowl. The media is going to make him one the most popular QB's in the league regardless(they already have). The probowl is a popularity contest and he's gonna be more popular than matt ryan and josh freeman. The only QB's in the NFC he'd be behind is Rodgers, Brees and Vick in terms of popularity. Didn't Vince Young do it his first year. They will have to have monster seasons and Cam will have to be horrible for a probowl to be out of the question. People like to be entertained and Cam is a "icon and a entertainer. I dont give a poo if he makes it or not. I just hope he wins the ROY because that means he actually is getting the job done.

Am I the only one who remembers when TRD, jtgreensboro, ncmonzta, P55, among one or two more, would travel from thread to thread viciously defending Matt Moore?

My how times change, There's only one left in that group now.

Just an observation.

LMAO. Nah, I never "traveled thread to thread" defending Matt Moore and definitely not viciously.:cam: At ease:gnorsi:

I did defend Moore and will do it again. I think he still has potential to be a starter for us or elsewhere. Even with the horrible year he had last year, he still has an overall winning record in this league. I don't know why he fell apart but don't be surprised if Moore is here again this year. The only way he leaves is if someone pays him more money.

People say stupid stuff in the press all the time. Look, on the level, I'm a Saints fan. Still, I've followed the Panthers since the beginning and, generally, respect the organization. They've made the division stronger, over the years. Last year was...last year.

For the life of me, I couldn't understand all of the so called doubt about Newton and speculation that he'd go in the second round or pick in the 20s...made no sense. This kid is the complete package. If I had to swap places with an NFL player, it would be him. Nice looking kid. Personable. Infectious personality. Smart. Cannon for an arm. Big guy. Runs hard. Natural born leaded. Heisman winner. WHAT IS THE PROBLEM?

There is risk in any high draft pick but the bottom line is that the Panthers are is desperate need of a QB. They aren't winning more than 6 games next year; the expectations are low. So there is no short term pressure for him to win, just learn and develop. Jimmy Clausen, even for a rookie, show a few warning signs.

It was a GREAT pick and unless Clausen has a swift and unexpected breakthrough during training camp, or someone like Mark Ingram busts for 1,500 yards, or Newton just does something incredibly stupid, I don't see how Newton is NOT the ROY.

Shut up troll.

If I remember correctly, fans get 1/3 of the votes for pro bowl. Fans can't vote him in. Now if he comes out "gunz a blazin'" then yeah he will make the pro bowl. Problem is, that isn't a lock to happen.
