Let me get this right... NOBODY here believes that he'll be the rookie of the year? Or that he will not also go to the pro bowl as a rookie??

I think he will be rookie of the year, but Pro Bowl and Super Bowl MVP this year? That is far fetched. Only twice has a rookie quarterback been selected to the Pro Bowl and they are Dan Marino and Vince Young. Only one has ever started in the Pro Bowl and that was Dan Marino. Secondly no rookie quarterback has ever led his team to the Super Bowl.

So the odds are highly against everything except, Newton being selected as ROY.

Well anyone who knows anything about football knows that everything u just said is true! Fox took the blame for everything, Moore was was playing hurt before his shoulder injury, and Cam has been known to be inaccurate. Nothing to argue about there.

The only one that is not favorable is the Cam one.

Everything else I actually agree with.

Any coach that can say he led Jake Delhomme to a Super Bowl must be a decent coach.

Matt Moore is pretty good but he may not be good enough to start and consistently win.

Cam this season please start already? I could see him being in the running for ROY, but it'll be tough with Matt Ryan dishing balls to Julio all season long.

The only thing of note is that universally the supposed experts were saying that Newton wouldn't make an impact this year and wouldn't see the field before the draft. Obviously the press is very positive and the public opinion appears to be that he will play this year and will likely make an impact. Given these are vegas lines, they are more an indicator of popular opinion and where folks are betting their money rather than an indicator of who will actually win. Still it is actually surprising given that the lockout hasn't ended and by most estimates rookie quarterbacks will be most affected the longer it takes to start the season. it is also interesting that there is a correlation between how people feel about Newton and how they are reacting to this article. He remains a polarizing figure to fans and the media.

I think I'll need to see Cam play a few pro games before I can say what awards he might receive this year. Just keeping it real, very hopeful but realistic.
