Have no idea how he will perform on the field...only time will tell.

However, it is definitely good to see the attitude, work ethic, etc. from this kid. Glad to see that it is very unlikely that we have a personality the likes of JeMarcus Russel on our hands.

I was one of the biggest critics of this pick....but I am glad to now give Cam credit where it is earned and due.

Cam Newton is even impressing me more and more and I expected him to be involved but not to this extent!!! What a great opportunity for the two playmakers to build a solid foundation for a friendship which def will translate on the field!!! I dont remember any other player with this much hype getting this involved with off the field events....

Edit: I don't mean the scandal , I mean the constant War Eagle chants I had to hear on a daily basis from people in south GEORGIA ... who know nothing of football.

South Georgia has some of the best high school football and best high school football (and future college) players in the country.

And pretty good lower-division college football teams in Georgia Southern and Valdosta State.

I would hazard a guess to say that south Georgia has had more success and better players when it comes to football than any place in South Carolina outside of Clemson.

Actually, I think the "fake smile" thing was reported by Nolan Nawrocki in his Pro Football Weekly draft preview. And I think Nawrocki played for Illinois. Not that that makes him any less of an idiot.

No. This isn't some new leaf Cam has turned over either. He has been this guy all along.
