And if we don't make a Free agent splash at midnight...

In the end it all comes down to Lucas. The FO has made it clear that their plans for next season include Peppers and all other starters are back. Thus any free agent moves will be for backups.

With Hangman probably leaving and Vincent being oft injured and a FA after this season, it wouldn't surprise me if OG/C is now the second biggest current need for this team behind another DT.

DE and CB needs are all contingent on Lucas and Peps future.

Personally, I don't think we need to make a big splash in free agency - but if we do I hope it's T.J. Housyourmamma!

The guys is the most underrated WR in the NFL right now. He and Smitty would be deadly (assuming Jake can get the ball to him, LOL).

I don't think TJ is under-rated, at all. I think he is considered one of the best receivers in the league, without question, unless you are thinking about what Cinci thinks of him...

if we don't make a huge splash right when FA period begins I will be incredibly proud of the team because then they couldn't be held in suspicion of dealing when they weren't supposed to.

any FA signings that happen right at midnight were negotiated when they weren't allowed.

Oh wait! you mean when at 12:02 the redskins anounce they have signed hanesworth, that they didn't negotiate out that contract in just over 1 minute? (yep sarcasm :D )

Vincent did have a history of groin injuries but he was the only one that didn't get hurt and miss games until the very end of the season this year. If he fully recovers he should be fine. But we could definitely use some back-ups.

    • Karlaftis and Danna have been pretty inconsistent so teams have been doubling Jones and able to contain their pass rush.   But the good thing is that yesterday, we schemed well against Steve Spags Defense, Canales married the surrounding personnel with his QB through play designs within his comfort zone and was able to get downfield at will.  He was able to execute higher difficulty throws and look a lot more comfortable.  It tells me that Canales has a good system in mind, and had an edge gameplanning wise against Spagnuolo - which is nice to see.  It's a bit to see-saw at times with either going way too pass heavy or way too run heavy, but I think he's finding out what works.  It takes time to have it come together, and sure, I could see regression happen against a better front-7, but this was good for the entire system gelling.
    • This was evident first two weeks of season. I don’t see any issues with physical tools since he came back. I think he is a player that must play with confidence to overcome those size limitations and he’s doing that.
    • Still 3-10 on passes over 15 yards.  At least he's not scared to merely attempt them anymore.  Where I see improvement is the 10-15 yard range.  He was 6-6.  Bryce of old was scatter shot on anything beyond 10 yards and the further out, the worse the accuracy.
