Talk of a new CBA picking up steam

Someone should research our salary cap situation.

IIRC we are 70million below last years cap, and Hurney said our "core" would be no more than 30million to re-sign. Add in a new cap that the salary floor will be 30-50million higher and we could be forced to spend some serious cash, like 70-90mil

Those numbers are based on my fuzzy memory, like I said, someone smarter than me with more time should look into it

The 2011 cap hit would be around 73 million as of right now, I also think it will take more then 30 million to keep Williams, Kalil, Johnson, Davis and Anderson.

Plus you have Newton's Contract which will be something along the lines of a 6 year deal worth 70-80 million with 40-50 million guaranteed. Regardless of what the new CBA has in it, it doesn't apply to the previous draft...so he'll get a full out rookie contract under the old system... The above numbers are from Bradford's deal... I figure Newton's would be around the same area.
