At this point all we have to go on is that players are gushing over Cam. To imply that they're trying to mislead the fan base requires a lot of guesswork. It's possible, but why would any fan want to believe in the worst possible scenario, that the players are lying and Cam really sucks? Yikes. I'd much rather believe that he's doing a great job so far, and that's just as reasonable to believe given the limited up to date information we have about him. I'm taking the positive route, at least until Cam proves otherwise on the field.

Having said that, our offense will probably be limited due to starting a rookie QB. Cam is almost certain to make a lot of rookie mistakes, and the rest of our division is REDRUM, so I'm not expecting many wins, but I do trust that Cam will work hard and give his best effort.

TD was off to a terrific start that year he tore his ACL. I'd say Pro Bowl shoe-in, but we know how those work.

Actually yes they would. First of all you wouldn't be hearing players talk about how he is real and is a leader. Instead they would be talking about how he needs to learn this and that and they wouldn't be talking about him being the starter for the upcoming season instead they would be talking about someone else being the starter for example last year we drafted Clausen but Matt Moore was projected to be the starter. Not one time did anyone hear that Clausen was showing leadership qualities, and you didn't hear about how great Clausen looked in training camp.

I was never a big Cam Newton Fan. In fact I pulled for SC in the SEC all year and I was pulling for Oregon the whole season to win the BCS. I hated Cam with a passion, I felt he was fake and when all the news came out about his father asking for money from schools that wanted him I was very happy. I was mad when he won the Heisman and the National Championship. On draft day I was really mad that we drafted Newton. I thought we screwed up but now I can say that my feelings have changed about the guy. Its not the media that has changed my mind its what our own players are saying about him. If Steve Smith, Thomas Davis, Jordan Gross, Ect. thinks he is special then I believe them. Clausen never received praise from these guys last year and obviously we now know why. Cam is going to be special and I can't wait to watch him light up the Cardinals in week one.

And as far as Thomas Davis goes....

I cant wait to see Davis back on the field. Hopefully he will resign with us. He has always been my favorite linebacker for the Panthers. He is in his prime and the long rest should have TD up to 100%. I love watching him lay the wood on other players.

it was funny to see comments made by the players about clausen because you could tell they were trying not to call him cocky. i think gross actually did call him cocky.

you never heard anyone say too much about him or even matt moore in the way of praise. with jake the past few years you only heard players defending him and them saying he was their QB.

its a consensus feeling from everyone asked who has spent time or worked with him that newton is special. players are glowing about him. they aren't side stepping comments about him or being polite.
