Can I get some feedback on this podcast?

You cant compare to Kevin Smith though , he just calmly tells stories about him doing things while high.. according to these guys you're just spewing out dick and fart jokes with no direction .. freestyle comedy is almost impossible , as it may look like people do it sometimes , it's only a joke or two .. like when we on the huddle post gifs or pics as a spur of the moment thing. So as was mentioned .. have a direction and prepare yourself beforehand.

yeah, Adam Carolla keeps coming to mind..

he talks about all kinds of poo, and quite a bit of it I wouldn't put on the loud speakers.. he has some sort of direction, and then goes on a rant when something touches a nerve.

although, he's a hard one to mimic. after all, it's adam freaking carolla... he may not even have direction, but he's one of few who can pull it off in only a way he can..

My only other criticism would be to steer clear of the word fine young male unless it is an integral part of a joke. Even then you are walking a tightrope and could fall off a cliff very quickly.

It doesn't bother me but I can't say the same for everyone.

I would have to hear Kevin Smith to tell the difference. honestly, I think it has to do with your voice and then how you speak.

I would try to sharpen the material and then go random in certain moments.. otherwise it just sounds like some guy and his friend(s) having a random/general conversation, and not a podcast.

but like I said, I'd have to hear Kevin Smith to pick up on why his sound and topics were effective.

I don't really think there's much logic that can be given to you with this topic. It's a podcast, it's more about how people receive you, and that doesn't necessarily mean "why" can be explained.

Could you please elaborate on this? Thanks

Um about the guy who said its improvised, thats pretty much how I come up with any joke you know.

I completely understand that episode 1 was bad because of andre. He's not a charismatic guy at all, he doesnt try to add stuff or create topics. He's a one guy answer you know.

Um alot of times because of that I was trying to come up with stuff to get him to talk. I addressed him being uncharistmatic in the 1.5 episode because it really made me mad.

Terray, I understand about the word fine young male. Im not homophobic and mean no harm by it. Im trying to cut down on the swearing and being more eloquent and expanding my vocab.

Thanks for the tip guys. Do you think there was any pros to this?

edit: Jesus Episode 1 was bad 1.5 was way better.

that's more of what I'm referring about..

also, figure on doing a lot of episodes. it's going to take a lot of trial and error to really accomplish this sort of thing. just like in sales or customer service, etc.. it takes practice to get a feeling on how to say things (in tone, etc) and how to explain things (with words, descriptions)..

gonna take a lot of podcasts to get a groove.. as with anything.

work ethic is all that matters. spend time doing a podcast, but I would allow editing.. take a segment where you might have something and retool it. use it again. spend hours talking about subjects, ideas, etc and get a base for an episode.

everyone does podcasts.. if you want to separate yourself from the masses, you have to put in the time and effort and ignore anything you perceive as "failure".. moments of failure is just a moment where you have a problem to address, which is a good thing. you know what to address.
