I understand the belief in Rivera (I'm totally on board), but I think we are putting a little too much pressure on Chud to be something special. He may just be alright.

And as for Crixtala, people will come to Charlotte because we pay them. People go to down franchises all the time. It's the point of free agency.

a large percentage of the board is literally going to poop their pants when they see that Chud's offense looks like something that Fox would have had an OC run. A little more TE emphasis but a lot the old Fox principles will apply.

if it's a somewhat competent use of a similar philosophy, then I'm good with that.

I agree. I was not implying it would be a bad thing....I just think some aren't prepared for the run, run, playaction type offense that is coming.

I think we have some pull. we have a coaching staff that SHOULD coach up talent and put them in place to make plays.

People have seen what Rivera has done at 2 different teams, both bringing a league leading defense.

if Chud lives up to what we think he can do and Cam becomes a legit star, offensive players will come here.

I think we do need to see what direction we may be heading though..

i think all of those things will DEFINITELY have pull for free agents... but i don't think it will this year. give them a year to put in some work and show people what we're doing and we may become more enticing... right now, i just can't imagine the situation being too apetizing to FA's.

new coach, new system, new QB... so many questions, very few answers. not something i'd want to go to if i were a big time FA looking for that contract that's going to pay me and land me in the same spot for SEVERAL years to come.

yeah... that's exactly what i was saying... people will come here, but they'll have to get PAAAAAAAAAAAAAID. charlotte (the city) is not a huge pull for an athlete... what is there for them to do here? intern as a teller at BoA?

i can't imagine there's any FA out there right now thinking to themselves, "man... i hope this lockout ends soon, i need to get on the phone with carolina so we can work out that deal." any thoughts involving carolina also come with the thought that a big price tag is going to have to come with the contract to get them here

I do hope we see more 3 and 4 WR threats.. based on some interviews, I won't be surprised to see this, more disappointed if I don't..

but we can still run a crapload out of those, with quality playcalling... I still think we'll use 1 & 2 TE sets, but if they want to add some of what Cam is used to from Auburn as they have mentioned, I think they'll try to spread the field a bit..

to do that, you can't spread the field only when they throw..

all of this is subjective and speculative.. we'll see what they do on Sunday's.. but they have emphasized running the ball and our OLine stepping up, doing their job..

If Holmes, VJax, or Floyd sign with their respective teams, that leaves guys like Edwards and Burress to sign (rather not the latter unless coaches feel he's had an awakening)...

I think this thread got people more concerned than needed.. obviously, we would have opened the pocketbook to bring some FA's in..

I think this year is going to look like the next two for WR.. we might be able to pull someone away from their team, but it's going to cost a pretty penny.

But who says we are going to sign Coefield and/or Wright? Just because it's heard through the grape vine that we may or may not be looking at an individual does not mean we are going to sign them.

I dont think that our record was necessarily a sum of the parts we had last year. Working with McDermott and Rivera with a defensive leader and talent like Beason could attract some defensive guys. Offensive guys I'm not sure what the lure could be.

I am neither for or agains bargain shopping I will make that clear to you pathetic excuse for a human being. I simply think it would be a shame not to go after a big name free agent with all of the money the Panthers have, but it's J.R.'s team so he can do what he chooses.

I love lining up in the goal line, I formation with your blocking TE and running right down their throats. How demoralizing when a team tells you what they're going to do and there's nothing you can do to stop it.
