I personally believe it would be best for the Panthers if we could keep Moore around because I feel like there will be points this year where we will need him. That being said, I think Moore himself would be best off elsewhere because he would have some starting opportunities.

If Cam wasn't picked number 1 in the draft, I am not sure Moore wouldn't be favored as the starter this year. He still seems ahead of Clausen as far as I can see. With so many high draft picks though, he could find himself outside looking in. If we can't find a veteran who will be content mentoring Newton and starting for a year at most (maybe not at all) then there is still a chance we keep him on the roster as a backup with starting potential. After all how many times have we had a quarterback make it through the entire year in the past 5 years. Seems with our luck we need at least 2 potential starters at quarterback, maybe three.

I am by no means implying that Clausen is better than Moore right now. I have no idea at this point. Who knows how Moore will be coming off a big rehab and Clausen had his own operation. For whatever reason though I don't get the feeling that both will end up on the roster. Unlike some others, however, I think the player with more value will be the one that goes and not the one that stays.

To Moore's credit, I've never seen a franchise backup QB have such religious followers on an online forum. I am surprised he wasn't mentioned as one of the guys that will cost the team $60-90 million to lock up.

Chris Weinke had a pretty big fan base on this board several years ago.

There's an interesting point raised here. Under Henning, Delhomme missed three games in four seasons, and they came late in the season of his last year on a thumb injury. Then in the next four seasons, Delhomme managed to start 16 games once. In the other three years we had a revolving door of QBs, with just about all the changes due to injury. At the same time, we had a massively improved offensive line from that which Henning enjoyed. At least that's my opinion anyway.

So what do you think, is this just a case of Delhomme getting old or was there something to Davidson's system that put the QB at more risk?

I dunno. Maybe trying to run a hard play action on 3rd and 12 with the entire defense blitzing and taking a QB that may have 2 seconds to make a decision and giving him .3 seconds and the ability to only look to one receiver before he is killed.

if you want to review the Eagles game in '09, you will find a lack of adjusting to the insanity the Eagles brought that day..

stacking one side of the lines, swapping DE's with LBers, and vice versa.. we did nothing to adjust to the aggression from that Eagle's D and we went through 4 QBs...

I don't know if that was a trend, but I know it happened on a grand scale at least once..

I don't know about you guys, but I felt hoodwinked that NJPanther12 was not the one that updated this thread :-(

I will have an update soon I have just been swamped with work. I am starting to get worried with Charles Johnson. I am hearing he is being swayed by Falcon players to come back home and now he is changing his tune. It does not seem like money matters to him and now it all has to do with winning.

The Panthers didnt franchise him because they knew they were not going to get outbid for him, which they could not say the same about Kalil. They are still going to offer him the most money and he does like Charlotte, so hopefully that will outweigh Atlanta's offer and desire to be on a playoff team. I can personally guarantee you the Panthers will have a higher offer then Atlanta, but I cannot guarantee anymore that he won't take less money to go to Atlanta. I feel like the longer this lockout lasts the worse the chances are he comes back. I still stand by what I said that it was told that the Charles Johnson told teammates he was not leaving Charlotte, but I have also been told that Charles Johnson is somewhat of a follower and does not think on his own. Unlike players like Beason, DeAngelo, Smith, and Davis who are leaders and not followers.

is your "source" twitter?

You show me one persons twitter where it has been stated anything about Atlanta. You show me one persons twitter that has said anything about why they franchised Kalil over Johnson. You show me one twitter where it says no doubt the Panthers will not be outbid for Johnson. Find me one twitter where it says anything about the Johnson not being his own person and he is a follower. Nope you wont find one Mr. Touchdown.

How about instead of wasting your time every single time I post by writing a negative reaction how about you actually get a clue about football and realize Charles Godfrey is not a good safety in the National Football League. Your posts in that thread about Godfrey are absolutely laughable. You are clueless about my source just like you are clueless about the game of football and the Carolina Panthers if you truly believe the things you wrote in that thread. Get a clue my friend.
