From what I've seen in trailers of Super 8, it looks stupid. I enjoyed Cloverfield though, so I'll probably get around to seeing Super 8 some time.

Cloverfield was one of the worst movie's I've ever watched. I almost got up and walked out during the movie.

No it's nothing like Cloverfield. Super 8 really isn't a monster flick, it's so much more about the story and the characters. Where as Cloverfield was all about the monster.

It's probably just a case of some of his stuff looking the same in movies. Like the monster on Star Trek, Cloverfield, etc. This happens for a lot of directors or whatever, like Spielberg and the music he uses, Lucas' art, etc.

I heard this movie as like a throwback 80's sci-fi fun film, which isn't really bad. Don't think I'll go to the theater to see it though.

Yeah. Mostly in the final third of the movie. It moves exactly like the Cloverfield monster and looks pretty similar.
