Jordan Gross interview

Most of the time we will run 22 personnel with 2 running backs and two tightends. That means you can only have 1 wideout. If we run many 3 receiver or four receiver sets, the tight ends and running backs will be catching the ball. Or we will going 12 personnel with a single back and 2 tight ends and 2 wideouts. If they put Newton back there by himself, it will be a 2 minute drill. We won't be counting on his arm to make many plays.

I am glad Cam is exceeding my expectations but we won't be going wide open especially at first. We will running a more conservative offense than many think this year. We will be running the ball alot since that part of the offense will be further along than the passing game. That will be even more the case the longer the lockout lasts.

i still expect to see a lot more one back sets than anything. 2 WR/2TE or 3 WR/1TE...depends a lot on how well the Oline is blocking for him..

it won't be wide open, but i don't see it being particularly conservative, either (compared to foxball).

Any idea on how good, or bad, Armanti's looked?
hadn't heard anything. seems like he's entrenched (more or less) in the role of a WR. there weren't really any comments on anyone except a couple rookies and guys coming back from injury.
