Pau Gasol was an all star who had led a sorry Memphis team to the playoffs by himself in a year that Kobe's Lakers missed the playoffs altogether in '05. Its not a coincidence the Lakers did not become "elite" until they acquired Pau. And its not a coincidence that they totally fell off and couldnt win a game when Pau had a pooty series against Dallas this year. Kobe like most stars needs a quality big man to win an NBA championship. This Heat team and the old Bulls squads are the only ones you can point to that dont have QUALITY bigs manning them. And even the Bulls had a HOFer in Rodman leading the league in rebounding. No one wins titles by themselves. NO ONE.

Wade has been by himself the past 5 years and couldnt get out the 1st round. Contrast that to what James managed to do in Cleveland by himself. It takes a team effort to get this done, which is why they came together to get by Boston and back to this point.

It was more Kobe hitting the wall than it was Pau not stepping up, half of Pau's game is through Kobe getting double teams and penetration. I'm afraid the black mamba is gone for good, he will still be dangerous, just not the elite Kobe we all know

LJ is averaging less points and blocks then DW

Only about 1 more rebound per game and 1.5 more assist per game when compared to DW

He's also shooting worse by about .30..

Oh yea.. LJ is averaging more turnovers per game then DW.... 3.0 compared to 2.9 for Wade.

Also on the Bulls series, He shot 44 from the field and average almost as many Turnovers per game as DW... 3.5 compared to 4.0 for DW.

LJ other stats (non scoring... Asst, Rebs, Blocks, Steals) are heavily skewed by the Philly series where he went off on the boards and such..

I will give LJ some credit, his eff is pretty nice till you get to the finals and it plumets..

In Game 4 he was non-existent. At least in Game 5 he tried. He just couldn't convert. He's not that great of a shooter anyway, he needs to play his game and drive. Without looking at the stats, he probably missed more shots in Game 5 but he was a whole lot more active. He got others involved too. Game 4 he was absent. I think Game 4 was worse, and I don't think it's close. But the fact that he claimed it was the biggest game of his career and didn't perform says a lot.

I dont know that for a fact but when I first joined this board there was a thread about Bob Johnson and KT claimed in that thread that anyone who didnt support the Bobcats did so because the owner is/was black.
