I watched this every night for 6 months leading up to my departure for Parris Island.

Not much reason to watch the movie after they graduate, though. There's only one good line left in the movie: "It's easy! You just don't lead 'em so much!"

I saw an interview with Ermey talking about that scene. He said that he was supposed to just smack the bill of his hat on the second smack but he actually hit him by accident! He said he thought Pyle was really going to kick his ass, he is a big dude!

Second half of the movie does suck, but I love these quotes:
