Braylon Edwards

Steve Smith (NYG)

Malcom Floyd

Lance Moore

James Jones

Mike Sims-Walker

Santana Moss

Steve Breaston

non of these guys are really average. all of them are capable of putting up some great numbers and most of them have proven it.

santana moss is a bit older than i would like, but still he's got a couple years left and he had a great year last year.

braylon edwards has been improving his play every year and drops aren't a problem for him anymore. put him back with the OC that he had his break out year and you will likely see more of them.

malcom floyd has a lot of talent and is a big receiver very familiar with chud and his offense.

lance moore and steve smith are both very good slot receivers.

james jones is a star in the waiting

mike sims walker has a ton of talent, although he's got a bit of an attitude.

i'd rather have rice or holmes than any of these guys, but any one of them would be a huge upgrade...esp. if smith gets traded. if he does, i can see us going after two of these guys. seriously.

None of those guys would be an upgrade over Smith.

Santana Moss: above average, but still not better than Smith.

Edwards: doing what he should be doing, being the second receiving option on a balanced offense.

James Jones: the 3rd or 4th option on one of the most pass happy attacks in the league.

Malcolm Floyd: see James Jones.

Lance Moore: see the previous two.

Steve Smith (NYG): I do think he is a very good player and would be excited if New York let him walk.

Sim-Walker: He's a guy who helped people win there fantasy football leagues a couple years ago and has gotten too much recognition since. (Chris Chambers, Steve Johnson).

So with the exception of the other Steve Smith I'm not really excited about any of these guys as a replacement for Smitty. I would be fine with us bringing in one to play across from him or in the slot. Any of them would be a significant downgrade from Smitty if he leaves.

So basically what you're saying is Rice or Holmes or bust?

If we have to replace Smitty, yeah that's how I feel. And I'm not even that enthused about Rice. I just think he has the ability. If we keep Smitty, than things look a lot better, and I'm fine with any of those guys being brought in to be the second, third, or fourth option (however it pans out).

Smith may be the slot in a 3 wr set to create match-up problems. However, if he is still a Panther, he'll always be the #1. I really hope Smith gives it another year. It would be fun to see what Chud can do with a weapon like Smith.

I could see Braylon Edwards because as someone pointed out earlier, he had his breakout year under Chud in Cleveland and like Shockey he may feel he has a better chance for success here in Chud's system than he does elsewhere.

I don't see us going for Miller after picking up Shockey. I guess that depends on who we keep. It's hard to comment on the WR position because I think what Smitty does will determine what the Panthers do. As of now I think Gettis, Smith, Shockey and LaFell is a nice lineup with double trouble in the backfield. Without smitty, we will need somehting good.

if we traded away smith i could see us going after both edwards and floyd. funny thing is, we could probably get both of them for the amount that we would be paying smith and we'd get more years out of them.

There is no way we cut Armanti after one year, no way we don't give the dude from a Hawaii a shot, Gettis, LaFell are locks....that's already 4, if we keep Smith that's 5- and you expect us to sign a big name?

I'm all for going after Zach Miller, and would be happy if we were able to get a guy- but I can't see us overpaying for a James Jones

We are either going balls to the wall and trade Smitty and go after V-Jax or Rice

or are going to try and persuade Smith for one last year and stick with developing our young guys

knowing the panthers I am saying option number two is 98 percent more likely

We are going to slow the progress of two good young receivers to bring in a vet when we have Smitty? Don't see it happening.

We also have AE and Our incoming rookie.

There is NO room and if you do you will hinder the development of our FUTURE STARS.

If Smitty leaves... Yeah I see us bring one in to mentor our youth.

I see a repeat thread

SSSOOOOOOOO WHAT!!!!!

Who died and made you forum monitor?

Here is an idea.....Post a valid comment or DON'T POST...

BFD if it is a new thread on an old topic....

YOUR "I See a repeat thread" IN every thread that is a repeat as annoying as your unrelated post just to post.......

So which is worse... repeating a thread....or being a whiny, crying, little B!TCH because someone posted the same thread again.
