Stats? I will let you google for them. I dont want to waste my time on something I dont agree with.

Well, somebody else has provided your stats, but for me, I'm satisfied with what I saw with my own eyes, particularly with the performance he had against our own Panthers a couple of years ago. IMO, he outplayed Kurt Warner in 05.

OK, So if this impossible deal happened, you guys would want Jake to still be the starter. And I know the answer Im going to get. The real question is, How many INTs would it take from Delhomme for everyone to jump on the Cassel bandwagon?

How many INTs? How many INTs did it take for everyone to want Jake replaced by Chris Weinke. People are going to want him benched for the smallest things.

Cassell, at his price, at his tenure, is a gamble. A HUGE risk. Do you know why Fox doesn't take first round QBs? Because they are high risk in terms of money. And with our current cap situation, we would want to spend that cap space on something we need more.

How many INTs... geez. I don't care how many INTs Jake throws as long as we keep winning. His INTs clearly overshadowed our defensive struggles to you. Without a realiable defense, it doesn't matter how many INTs you don't throw. See New Orleans Saints.

Cassell can't play in Fox's offense this year as well as Jake. Our offense doesn't matchup well w/ Cassell's strength's and weaknesses and Fox offense will not change. It would make no sense. Offensively we are fine. We need a defense. The offense put up the points. We need some D and some better schemes. Cassell for Peppers is laughable imo. Jake will give you 2-3 bad Jake games a year....we are just overracting b/c one of those was our last game of the season. You really think Cassell would lead us to a better year offensively than what Jake did? No way. No other QB imo will get as much out of Smitty as Jake, imo.

Jeff Davidson's offensive system is actually pretty similar to New Englands system. Davidson came from the same tree and modeled his offense around them.

not really. either way, NE molded its system around cassel this year when they realized he couldn't play under center.

Cassell had 405 pass attempts out of the shotgun formation

Jake had 92

Cassell had 362 pass attempts from behind the line of scrimmage to the 10.

Jake had 100 less.

Doesn't look to similar to me?!

our scheme is completely different from NE's scheme. Just because Davidson coached there doesn't mean we have a similar offense

we know what we get with jake...a rollercoaster.

I like the idea of Cassel but I am not sure of him. Nobody can be.

I am for almost any change at QB. But one this expensive makes me nervous. Especially when there are other needs I believe to be more pressing. Jake is not our answer at QB but Cassel is gonna cost too much. I think Matt is much more composed and more accurate but with Jake's contract renegotiated (if) we might can eek out another season of either late dissapointment or mediocrity.

Anything else will be a bonus with him. It disgusts me to say it but the rest of the team is not ready to support a primo passer right now.

he's neither more composed nor more accurate. He has to play out of the shotgun because he can't read defenses and move his feet at the same time, his arm is mediocre and the only reason he was allowed to throw underneath the whole season is because teams were scared of randy moss.

I guess thats better than forcing it to your prime reciever anyways. Someone could take a tip from him.

I didn't hear you complain about that during the wins this past season? Or in the prior playoff games when the Delhomme/Smith combo that everyone knew was coming had such great success? Even if Jake hadn't sabotaged that game against the Cards....our Defense was going to prevent us from doing anything in reality. Jake and the offense carried the D the majority of the 2nd half of the season.
