Ancient Astronaut Theory

So my girlfriend (of four years) and I broke up recently so this weekend I've just been hanging around the apartment trying to take my mind off of it. I came across this History channel series on Netflix called Ancient Aliens, and holy poo this stuff is weird, thought provoking, and interesting as hell.

Essentially its like 14 episodes all analyzing this evidence that Aliens have visited Earth back when humanity was first developing and influenced us. Some of the ancient cave drawing and stories they use as examples really make you wonder if this stuff is true. I'm not one for conspiracy theories and stuff like that but some of this stuff really makes me think. Anybody else ever heard of it?

I've seen a lot of those.. definitely interesting. especially the one that talks about an ancient civilization that spoke of a planet/star where everyone came from, and that science has pinpointed that star exactly where that civilization spoke of.

LMAO that guy has no idea what he is talking about but he's so excited about it. When they were talking about Mount Olympus and how it could have actually been a UFO I was like "well I'll be damned...it really could have been a UFO." And some of the cave drawings and sculptures really make you wonder.

I enjoy watching these type of shows, btw I have all 20 episodes of Ancient Aliens recorded. One of my favorite theorists is Erich von Däniken, The "father of the ancient astronaut theory". Author of Chariots of the Gods.

The elongated skulls thing is what caught my eye...thats...strange to say the least..other than that....blah...nothing but a bunch of junk science..

ironically, the elongated skulls can be explained and is probly the least interesting thing they've mentioned.

Yea the elongated skulls is really one of the less interesting things compared to what they're talking about. Some of stuff like the UFO battles above Germany and some of the ancient Indian text really gets you thinking. I'm 99% sure that we aren't alone in the universe but I don't know if Earth has ever been visited.

we won't know until we know... entirely possible that a planet evolved a billion years prior to earth.

Yeah Earth's had about 5 different major extinction events. Imagine if a planet just had stead evolution and growth for all that time

I've seen the show plenty of times. The analysis done by the "experts" is mediocre and the arguments they present can sometimes be very flawed. The two guys from UFO Hunters are especially prone to the "We can't prove it wasn't, so it must be" or the "This seems like something ancient man couldn't have done" kind of reasoning.

The evidence presented is interesting indeed. The theory is just as plausible as any other.

yeah I wouldn't take any of the "evidence" and present it as truth.. interesting thoughts, do with it as you will..
