Apparently we're the 2nd-worst run organization of 2011

lol, yeah.....I meant 10.

then agreed.

i can see the design in what happened, but there is no way anyone could really know just how bad it was going to be. no one thought the demolition of the team was going to be pretty, but to look like that? yeah...complete disaster.

people are putting way too much stock into the 2010 results, though. looking forward, if JR and hurney puts forth a real effort in not just keeping existing talent here, but bringing in a lot more talent through FA using the massive amounts of cap that has been freed up, it should end up looking like genius. JR and hurney have both indicated that they would be active in FA and i have no reasons to doubt it (looking beyond last year, of course) and their record of being close to the cap maximum shows they have a propensity to do it.

Actually, if he is isolating the 2010 season and calendar year, then I actually agree with our ranking. Last year was just plain awful. From paying Jake Delhomme to play for the Browns to keeping Fox and staff in place for a lame duck year to watching 49er and Raven idiots take over our stadium, it sucked huge ball sack.

2010 does not exist to me anymore. I have forgotten it. On to 2011. The drafting of Cam Newton and the hiring of what I think is a great NFL staff has 2011 off to a good start.

Apparently the vast majority of random writers don't know poo about the Panthers organization.

As to this site being based "solely" on 2010, I have no idea, because it's clearly a 2011 projection. Pretty idiotic if it's only based on a single year.

If he was basing it solely on 2010, I don't see why we're ahead of the Bills. Even they showed some signs of life towards the end. I would argue though the Bengals deserve to be lower just because of Mike Brown.

It looks like we are run poorly because we stayed with a proven loser at QB for too long and when we finally pulled the plug it was with an 8-digit penalty and we flushed all other vets with him. Then we proceeded to lose the best DE in the game just like we did Witherspoon before him and also Muhammed. Hmmm. Then we relied on players we reached for and no-names to put a patchwork quilt of a team together that went 2-14 and drafted a QB first for the 2nd draft in as many years.

You really have to be a fan to look at all this and still have faith in the FO and franchise as a whole. To the non-fan, we look like we have some serious management issues.

This has little to do with on-field production or execution and more to do with what was put on the field. Therefore it is completely 2010 and before season-wise as track records were likely factored in. It probably references everything up until publication actually.

Seems a few folks missed the first few sentences that indicate that this is an "annual" ranking (that means once every year for the hicks out there) so of course, it is based on our last season.

And considering the factors that make up the ranking......

owner

quarterback

head coach

front office

coaching staff

intangibles

Is it any wonder we placed so low considering those factors in our previous season? Some folks need to look up the word "projection" and understand that short term projections are made based on RECENT history. God I cant recall how many threads we have seen since the beginning of last season lamenting nearly all of these...

Coaching staff changes, Cam drafted...all of the other changes that have happened since the end of last season dont mean a darn thing until the team hits the field and does something. Until then...yeah...we are crap.

lol people are surprised we were one of the worst run organizations last year? how can you argue against that?

everyone knows JR didn't do poo to try and win last year because of the lockout. he didn't sign some of our best players to extensions and now we're in the position of possibly losing multiple key players as soon as a new CBA is reached. he should have fired Fox last year instead of letting him stay and not give a poo about winning. there was a lot of things they did horribly last season.

sorry, but please take off the homer goggles and realize a 2-14 isn't going to get any respect. I'm hopeful for 2011, and think they've assembled a good coaching staff and are taking the right steps, but 2010 was a fuging disaster and you could argue we should be ranked #32 since it's just a one year ranking.
