WFNZ reports rumors of Russell Westbrook

Sorry I don't have any links, but on the way home this afternoon, between 5pm and 520pm I was listening to "The Drive." They had Scoop Jackson from ESPN on the air with them for a few minutes and Taylor Tzarzer (sp) asked what he thought about the rumor circulating that MJ is looking to acquire Russell Westbrook ...

anyway, this is news to me, thought i would share.

This is probably just fluff but here is an article talking about GS trading Monta Ellis.

I dont know who I would rather have, Ellis or Westbrook. Both are great scorers but not true PGs.

I think Westbrook could be the SG and have DJ run the PG but I dont think Ellis would work out at SG with DJ at PG because we would have zero D, kinda like GS.

OKC is gonna trade westbrook to NO for CP3...Harden and Durant would both benefit from the trade and Westbrook could go be a primary option.

I doubt that would happen, OKC would likely have to give up more than Westbrook to obtain CP3 and I doubt they would want to do that.

I hope not, I'd hate to see Chris trapped over there. Between going to OKC or coming home I'd imagine he'd choose the later.

It would make more sense for OKC to call us up about DJ and others in a trade in order for a Durant, Augustin reunion. Better chemistry for sure.

I still want Chris Paul.

Yea, I would love to have him too but I honestly dont think it will happen but who knows.

Its about time MJ's superstardom gets this team something tangible.

You mean 3 future guaranteed first round draft picks, and a poo-ton of cap is not tangible?

Do you know anything of basketball operations?

Mike got those assets because he traded his best player, not because of who he is. Another teams gm isnt going to give the Bobcats some great deal just because of MJ.

I was referring to getting a superstar player to sign here in the near future like CP3 or D. Howard. That would be MJ using his stature.

But dont get me wrong, this team is headed in the right direction imo. I'm a huge MJ fan and he is 1000x the owner that Bobcat Johnson was or will ever be.

( I forgot to us an apostrophe after in the word teams, might want to add that to your impressive grammar insult list. )

    • After the Chiefs game a 6'5 X would really help in the Red zone. I would also love to add Slayton in FA
    • But again, you can restock a defense through free agency much easier than offensive skill positions. Spend all our cap space on defense, take a true elite prospect who also happens to fit a position of need in T-Mac, and then use the rest of our picks on defense. Again, every season there’s a smattering of great DL, LB, and DB options in free agency, a Top 10 WR never hits free agency, ever.  The only way you get one is through the draft or giving up 1st round picks in a trade for one. If he’s there when we’re on the clock, he has to be the pick, he’s just that good.
    • It must be an early Christmas for JT O'Sullivan having Thielen back so he could put a coal in Thielen's stocking every chance he gets.  Honestly, the biggest surprise is not so much the anticipation. There were those moments here and there last year as well. It's that even that one positive quality he had seemingly vanished his first two games to where it looked like it was all but over, only for it to start coming back some until you get exclamation points all over this game film. And some of those throws were under a lot of duress, something I feel is something new. Finally, those deeper shots are starting to land. Not all of them, but enough that defenses may have to start respecting them. No guarantees whether this will end up as more of anomaly but I certainly hope it isn't. The Green Bay game was a sampler of what BY could be. Against KC, we got a meal. If we could start getting these meals regularly, we might actually have something to work with here.
