Should the panthers take a look at players in the supplemental draft?

Recommended Posts

again i said "athlete". QB as many have said might not be pryor's true position.

We have already taken one flyer on an athlete that played QB in college....and that has not worked out so well.

No way I would touch Pryor.....not a position or skillset that we need

that's what they said about Clausen...

lmao who ever said jimmy clausen had lebron james type talent? the comparison is not there at all. he doesnt have freakish size nor is not athletically gifted enuff to warrant the comparison. Lions or no Lions If some one drops from a possible first round pick to be gotten for as cheap as a 5-7 pick(whom many get cut and never make the team) I say its worth looking into.

Love him or hate him he is 6'5 230 who has shown ablity to not only throw a decent pass but make big time catches in big time games. Given the right teaching I feel he would pay off alot more than some body we draft in the fifth who may not make the team. If he enter the draft this season or next, he would not be a 6-7 round pick.

I'd be fine if we burned a 4th round pick or so on Adams or the receiver, but I don't want Pryor. He hasn't been that good as a quarterback, he isn't a transcendent enough athlete to dominate another position, he doesn't seem to care if he's filmed while doing illegal things, and it would be a waste of a pick as we have our franchise quarterback and another young guy. I don't want to waste snaps trying to develop a quarterback for somebody else.

First, you have absolutely no evidence that Jimmy is as good as gone.

Why would we release a 2nd round QB that was thrown into a horrible situation....just to draft ANOTHER questionable QB.

We would make the Cleveland Browns look like a brain trust if we pulled a moronic stunt like that.

yes because there is no diffrence in drafting a player in the later roundswho arent projected to pan out. Looks like that method of thinking payed off for the steelers who already had a decent back up and choose to select dennis dixson who came in and played pretty well for after thought at the QB position.

The only players that I can remember really wanting to take in the supplemental draft were Paul Oliver, and Jared Gaither.

Usually they don't amount to much, but every now and again there is a gem (Jamal Williams)

I don't know. A guy named Rod Stewart got drafted one time. That sounds pretty sweet. Apparently Wahle was in it.

Catches touch down pass. I don't see why his ablity is in question for a guy that runs a sub 4.5(4.4 in highschool). he could easily play a number of postions besides QB. The guy was also the only player to be reguarded as a 5 star blue chip Football and basketball player coming out of high school. Athletically just on pure speed and ablity to do other thinkings i think he is above newton.

With that said i don't want him my starting qb, i think newton is a stud and will do great things.

I'd be one to take a look at pryor in the fifth, incase newton goes down the offense wouldn't have to change very much for another mobile QB. But at the same time, he has value as an athlete and is much more athletic than newton. He could play wr or even tight end. Also WR DeVier Posey was projected as a 2-3 round talent. Both could be steals thanks to that awful ohio state disaster.

Much more athletic than Newton? Seriously? Your right, Newton is not much of an athlete. And he has also never caught a TD pass. Right.
