If Smitty stays (a big if) we have a lot of pieces in placed to be better than a team that is picking in the top 5 next year.

Don't forget we have a 2 all-pro RBs, an all-pro WR, a darn good o-line, a all-pro DE, 2 all-pro LBs, and an underrated CB.

We have a lot of pieces in place to be a good team. Don't get me wrong I don't think we are super bow contenders, but I do think we will be competitive.

that's totally dependent on how our new players adapt to the NFL (realistically could take 1-3 years).. and how our team gels with each other, keeping in mind we have a new offense, defense, and STs to implement.

just don't see it happening.

Looking at Rivera's track record it's reasonable to imagine Top 5-10 Defense next year and beyond. That would certainly help our record in the near term while the offense gels.
